1 Gal. Visions in Red Meadow Sweet Astilbe Plant

Product Overview

Plant Patent #11965. A wonderful plant for the perennial border or in a woodland garden, this perennial plant sports attractive, fern like, dark green foliage that is beautiful in itself. In early to mid summer, tall, dark purplish red, flower plumes appear. When planted en masse, the flower display is stunning.
  • Dark purplish red flower plumes rise above foliage in mid summer
  • Very popular perennial for shade and woodland gardens
  • Somewhat more drought tolerant than other astilbe
  • Handsome, dark green, lacy foliage provides textural contrast
  • Ships in a 6 in. black nursery pot
  • Performs best in plant growing zones 4 to 8, when grown in other zones, special care requirements will be needed to protect the plant from extremely hot or cold conditions
  • To accommodate mature size or when planting in groups, space 1 ft. away from other plants or structures
  • This plant is a perennial, which means each it will re-grow each year. Be aware that it will die back to the ground each winter; and, while it may look dead during this season, it is simply conserving its energy so it can grow again in Spring
