Lavendula angustifolia is one of the richest in essential oils, meaning more fragrance power both fresh and dried, and 'Munstead' has a more compact habit and earlier blooming lavender flowers. Fresh flowers can be crystallized and used in candies and cakes; dried flowers are used in potpourri and sachets; oils are used in creams and perfumes. And, these are only some of the more common uses -- imagination can create endless more. An evergreen perennial, 'Munstead' lavender has a subtle blue-green coloring and a sweet fragrance. Reaching 12 to 18 in. high and 10 to 15 in. wide, it boasts 2 in., linear, downy grey leaves on strong stems. Semi-woody stalks of lavender flowers grow up to 12 in. tall.
  • Fragrant stalks of richest lavender against silvery foliage
  • Old fashioned garden favorite that was introduced in 1916
  • Every part of this plant is aromatic, creating an incredible effect in a mass planting
  • Best in warm, dry soil and full sun; does not grow in high humidity or wet soils; it is intolerant of any dampness
  • Ships in a 6 in. tall & wide black nursery pot
  • This plant is a perennial, which means each it will re-grow each year. Be aware that it will die back each winter; and, while it may look like dead branches during this season, it is simply conserving its energy so it can grow again in Spring
  • We're sorry, but due to state regulations, this plant cannot ship to South Carolina
  • Lavander grows best in USDA Zones 5-10, although occasional loss of plants due to severe winter weather or wet humid summers is possible in any Zone. Because Lavender is quite temperamental, It may be best to treat the Lavender as an annual and replace each year.
  • Lavender requires a planting site with Full Sun
  • To accommodate mature size or when planting in groups, space 15 in. away from other plants or structures
  • When shipped as a bare root plant, the Shake & Ship system has been used to remove soil from roots

Tiny plant in large (1 gal.) container. All 4 died within 2 weeks. I've ordered many plants online in my time and understand that they don't all survive. This was my worst online purchase by a mile. These plants would have been happy in one pint containers. They were promptly transplanted into fresh potting soil and their root systems were tiny and undeveloped. Huge disappointment.

      Deceptive
I ordered four and received one. It is tiny and near dead (I know it says dormant is common). It is not anything like the photo. The photo represents what it can grow into I assume, but not what your get. This is an insane price for this product. Hugely disappointed.

      Very healthy plant, and blooming!
The plant came very well packed, and it was very healthy. Got it in December, and now it is about 12 inches tall, with full of buds. Waiting to see and enjoy the flowers. Never seen a live lavender flower in Texas, so decided to plant one myself.
