Spikes of bluish mauve purple flowers appear in mid Summer. How do I plant and take care of sage. When does it get flowers

AnswerSage prefers a warm sunny site, although it does not enjoy extreme heat. It is not particular about soil, except to be well-drained. Sage is very drought tolerant and does not like sitting in wet soil. The leaves will get mildew if they're allowed to sit damp so water infrequently & plant where the sun or a breeze will dry the dampness. Sage blooms in mid-summer but you are really growing this pant for its leaves, which can be harvested at any time. Sage is a perennial in USDA zones 5-9.

From Florida to 25° Virginia slightly more than 48 hours. Plants were much larger than I expected and soil was still plenty moist. The boxes were laid on their sides because there were no markings that it was a live plant or This Side Up. After removing the plant from the box, there was no soil in the bottom of the box. A day out of the box and they perked back up and are well worth the money! Very pleased with Home Depot Customer Service also after a shipping issue with one plant of 3. It arrived the next day looking wilted and burned on the edges. Gave it a trim after unboxing and put it in a sunny window and it is looking like it never left Florida! Very happy with this purchase in every possible way.
