Couldn't get it to work.
I couldn’t get this to work. I followed the directions by using the drill bit side first to create a nice cavity. Then I flipped it over and used the extractor bit but it would not grab the broken screw. This might work better for a larger screw than the one I had (I was using the smallest bit). I ended up using a regular drill bit to drill out the screw. Maybe when or if I have something larger break, I will try this set again.

Worked for me
This did what I needed it to do, but took more than 10 seconds. The cutting end of the bit did not work for me, I had to use multiple drill bits to create a hole. Otherwise, good product!

    Disappointing
Bought to extract broken off grease zerks. Managed to get 4 or 5 out and then the bit snapped off. Tried the next bigger size and it snapped off on the first attempt. Just doesn't seem durable enough for serious work.

    Works but takes time
I needed this kit to remove a screw in the oven trim that wouldn't budge. I found that constant pressure would do the trick in stripping the screw so that when I flipped it to the other side, the top of the screw was removed with the drill bit; as for the remainder of the screw, it was removed by a light tap from the oven trim. So just be patient and keep alternating with the recommended bit to remove the stubborn screw

    Extracted stud- Awesome tool
Tool was purchased for a broken intake manifold bolt/ stud on boat motor. It was difficult due to the remaining portion of the stud was broken below the head and was also jagged to cut into. I used a center punch the best I could, then sprayed with WD-40 and began to cut slowly. Once deep enough, I flipped the tool over and leaned in for the kill. Ever so slowly I pressed the trigger on my Ridgid drill then= Freedom, the bolt jumped out of its tomb.

Practice using them first. Results will likely be mixed
While trying to remove a corroded screw from a Type LB conduit box, the screw head snapped off. I bought this product to try and remove the broken screw. Short story, it didn't work. I couldn't drill a clean, centered hole with the step one bit on the broken screw. The surface of the remaining broken screw wasn't perfectly flat, so it was very difficult to drill the pilot hole. And the broken screw just didn't have enough surface area to extract with this product. I then watched a few YouTube videos of people trying the extractors and I tried a test with four different screws I had sitting around. A few observations: 1. Before you use them on a real project, I would recommend practicing with the extractors on several types of screws to get familiar with what works and what doesn't work. 2. The instructions state that the extractors are not recommended for drywall screws. I tried them with a drywall screw and it was clear that the drywall screw was made of much harder metal than the other screws. The Step 1 bit couldn't effectively drill into the drywall screw head. So for screws or bolts made of hard metal, these may not work well. For hard metals, you might be able to use a different drill bit to bore a small hole and then try the Step 2 bit to extract the screw. 3. On two of my test screws, the Step 2 side of the bit wasn't able to grab onto the bored screw head. The hole seemed deep enough, but the extractor bit couldn't catch and just spun. Out of curiosity, I then tried the next larger extractor bit, which was able to grab onto the screw head and successfully remove the screw. So if the Step 2 bit spins, try the next larger extractor and see if it can get traction. So while I wasn't able to use the product for my original project, I did verify that they do work, but it does definitely depend on the screw type and condition, and may take some creativity.

The product dd not work on a simple extract, The drill end would not cut in t the bold at all, ended us having to use a metal drill bit, the remover piece just deburred the inside of the bolt. Eventually it just fell apart, will not work on anything difficult, probably ok for a sheet metal sccrew. not worth worth $15

The drilling side of the bit does little to create a hole for the extractor side of the bit to work. Had to use an actual drilling bit to create the hole and then use the extractor side to remove the ceased screw, in which, much effort was still used to use the extractor side of the bit. The correct extractor size was used in accordance to the screw/bolt size. The extractor flutes of the extractor are too small to start the extraction. The whole bit should be re-designed. Stay away and buy a proper extractor set.

Worked great for me - if one bit size doesn't seem to work, try the other sizes, that's what they are there for. The main reason i bought it was for a traditional phillips screw head that was stripped - that worked perfect, the smallest bit didn't do the trick at first, but the next size up finished the job. On the same project i was working on, there was an allen screw that was either the wrong size or stripped as well - after a while I decided to try the extractor with the smallest bit and it was awesome.

The product is suppose to be able to pull any type of screw out but what it doesn't tell you is if the head of the screw is a square head or (hex head screw) the product doesn't work on it!

              Why 3 stars?
I wasn't removing a hundred screws or anything but Honda installs the stupid "holder" screws for the rotors......took me 6 seconds to remove each of the four screws. Great product.

It did not work as well as I had hoped. It is very difficult to pre-drill the stripped screw head to a depth for the other end to remove the screw. Most of the time it just continues to stip the screw.

                Removed broken screw from transmission!
This stuff is miraculous. Removed screw that broke off from my transmission support. Took maybe 5 minutes following the instructions as per manual and some YouTube videos I checked out! Life saver.

Used this to remove stripped screws when replacing deck flooring. Had tried another type of remover that used a drill bit to first drill a hole in the screw and then had an extractor piece similar to this one. However, the drill bits just kept breaking when trying to drill the hole. Bought two of these sets in case one broke, but was able to remove dozens of stripped screws with the first set and didn't even need to open the second one. On a couple of the more stubborn screws I had to repeat the process or even go up to the next size in the set, but with patience, was able to get them all removed. Would definitely recommend this product - for me, it was the right tool for the job!

Absolute garbage! Drills the extraction hole just fine, but when you flip the bit, the actual extractor doesn't grab on to anything! Now all I have is a stuck screw with a giant hole in the center!

I suppose if you're desperate, you could cross your fingers and hope that you don't shred these. I ripped up two of the bits on the first use of each one. The tips are too soft. Charge 10 more bucks and increase the quality of steel that you're using.

Did not work. Don' waste your money. I tried this product, and it's a joke. The bits that drill out the center of the screw for step one, sure those work. But the ones to back the screw out, they don't do anything, just spin around in the screw head and maybe drill more out. Wish I would have returned it, but didn't have time as I was moving and it's still in a box somewhere.

Seriously, I wish I could give this -5 stars. Ran to the local store to get it, and one of the workers said it worked great. The only thing it did was strip the screw worse. Urg. Tried it on a second stripped screw and it did NOTHING. It was very possibly one of the most aggravating and useless things I have EVER purchased! So glad they took it back. (Ended up slotting the screws with a dremel cutting blade and backing them out with a large flat bladed screwdriver. Worked like a charm, wish I had done it first!!!)
