I have close quarters to deal with; ideally I would not have the diagonal piece at all and still hold 125 lbs, centered 18" from the wall. Then I would mount such a bracket upside down. Not sure if someone knows of a more perfect bracket for that. It seems like this one might fit for me. It says 19.625 deep by 13 high... hoping someone can tell me the distance from the ends of the metal, to the outer edges of the diagonal support part. Thanks.

Thanks Richelieu, best answer ever. The question I meant to ask probably wasn't very clear - but your answer is! I can see easily that the flat piece of metal that sticks out past the triangle support is about 2" on the long side (depth) and 2.25" on the short side (height).

Would these be okay anchored to concrete with a powder actuated tool?

You will need to carefully match the weight-rating and pull-out-rating of your fastener and wall to the planned weight use of your shelf. For safety, I recommend that you plan on keeping the total weight planned to place on your shelf and brackets at 25% of the capacity of the shelf bracket, support wall, and fastener ratings that you intend to use. That way you do not come home one day and find all the contents of your shelf having slid off the wall !

Are these appropriate to support a standard depth laminate kitchen countertop?
Asked by: Holly
Kitchen tops are 24" deep, so yes these would be adequate but laminate tops have a nasty habit of bowing when not supported properly. It may seem like overkill but I'd support the countertop every four feet to keep bowing to a minimm

What kind of screws should I use for a heavy load (about 100 pounds tops on 3 of these brackets) on the garage cinderblock walls?
Asked by: Henry
Hello Henry. Unfortunately we cannot give an exact specification for a screw to be used as each application is different. The best would be to go to your local hardware store, and look for concrete screws. If the cinder block is hollow in joints, you will need to consider using a concrete anchor. Regards.
