A:  No. You need a 3/4 inch male mender.

        by|May 5, 2023

A:  I haven't used mine yet, but I'm sure it would work fine on 3/4", simply tighten the clamp very tight.

A:  Yep, it will fit either 5/8 or 3/4 inch hoses. Simply tighten the clamp securely and you're good to go.

              Not worth the low price
Hose clamp skips teeth and does not hold tight enough. With better hose clamp it worked for two days then blew out with no warning.

Terrible product. I left this male mender fitting connected to a $18 brass "Y" fitting for 6 weeks and the male mender fitting corroded and became nearly impossible to remove. Had to use a torch to get it apart. This happened because this male mender fitting is aluminum, anodized to look like it is brass. If the fitting were actually brass it would have worked fine. But, since the fitting was aluminum, fraudulently disguised to look like brass, it failed, nearly ruining my expensive Y connector in the bargain. The manufacturer should be ashamed to make this product. Home Depot should be ashamed to sell it. No, really. Look up "brass fitting connected to aluminum" on the internet and you will see that aluminum is well known to be incompatible with brass. Orbit, the manufacturer is sure to know this. Why would they market a product that they know will fail? Why would they go to lengths to disguise it to look like brass to hide its likely failure from consumers? This product isn't just junk. It's way more than junk, it's more like sabotage.

                  Worked perfectly
I left a nozzle on the male end of my hose in my garage last winter. I wanted to remove the nozzle to connect the male end of my hose to my pressure washer. The nozzle had been connected without being removed for so long that it was impossible for me remove it from the hose. Rather than purchasing a new hose, I cut about an inch of the hose from the end that included the nozzle and installed one of these. The cutting of the hose and installing of this mender took less than five minutes and was completed using only a knife and screwdriver. The new male end of the hose connected perfectly to my pressure washer with no leaking whatsoever. Some of the other reviews expressed concern over this mender not being brass but, at less than $4, it's a simple fix to an issue similar to the one I was having.

Great quality worked to fix a 80 dollar hose that bursted close to the end. I do wish that the hose clamp end had some type of Vinyl covering for protection. But it did the trick.
