Questions & Answers

doesn't this nozzle come with a rubber washer?

I bought this nozzle and when I came home I found no rubber washer in it,
Asked by: Sami
Yes, it comes with a washer. The one I brought @HD also included a high pressure nozzle for $7.98 for both. Each nozzle came with washers.

The threaded tip broke off. Can I get a replacement part?

I've had some problems with this product but when I try to "review" it I get a message indicating that I can not.
Asked by: mikeb
Replacing the tip is not recommended. Buying a new nozzle is a better option to insure good service life and prevent further issues.

Customer Reviews

5 in. Adjustable Brass Nozzle is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 132.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from serious design issue This nozzle reminded me of the brass nozzles my dad had when I was a kid. They were so rugged and had this wonderful feel because of the weight, so I bought it. Unfortunately, the design is flawed in 2 major areas. 1. The tip screws onto the body with threads that are machined into it too deep so that the threads actually break off and the tip gets blown off by the water pressure. 2. Then the o-ring apparently fails and the only way you can replace it is if you somehow remove the rubber/plastic grip to get to a screw that allows you to get it apart. There doesn't seem to be a way to get the rubber grip off without destroying it. I sent a detailed email to the company explaining this and asking them for help but no one has gotten back to me. It's one thing to produce a poorly designed product but another to continue to market it knowing the problems it has. It should be obvious to the company based on the feedback from the reviews on this site. p.s. If I wanted to call them I would have done that instead of sending an email so please don't respond here with the phone number, just respond to my email please.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not recommended by me. Two of the parts of this nozzle are pressed into each other unlike simpler models that screw together. After occasional use for a couple of weeks those two parts blew apart. Since they are pressed together it can't be repaired.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from better than plastic, but relatively cheap and too many parts After a year the internal o-ring failed and began leaking water around the base of the outer jacket. I was able to repair it (danco #9 o-ring), but it requires cutting off the rubber grip to remove the retaining nut that locks the outer jacket to the core. Once I had it apart I found that the ports at the end of the core that pass water through to the tip were roughly cut. Additionally, the pattern adjuster at the tip is a separate piece that slides inside the jacket on a hexagonal shaft. This is a fairly loose fit and will probably round off eventually. Once that happens the spray pattern will no longer be adjustable and the nozzle will have to be replaced. Given that simpler, more reliable designs can be had for about the same price I don't think I would recommend this one for someone looking for a long term tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small Purchase Deserving Good Review I don't want to remember how many different hose nozzles I've purchased and installed only to find that they leak at the junction with the hose immediately or within a very short time. I'll try reseating the rubber gasket and usually continue putting up with the leak until I'm getting soaked while I'm soaking the flower garden. Because it would cost me more in time and gas to take it back, I'll put up with it until I finally am aggravated enough to purchase another new one. This last brass nozzle did not leak one drop after initial installation. It has not started leaking in the weeks since purchase...what I consider a good sign that maybe I've gotten my money's worth for a change. At this point in time I give this product a definite thumbs up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will last as long as the ones I used to buy decades ago that actually worked perfectly for nearly a decade with perhaps only a change of gasket during that decade.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 2 of 3 broke within one year Bought 3 last year. 2 of them broke within that year. The top part that turns to adjust nozzle pressure has popped off from the base of the nozzle for the two that broke. I'm a fairly mechanically inclined person. I try to fix anything that breaks. It seems that the internal lock ring just gives up over time. Will not buy again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nozzle Fizzle It blew apart after connecting it to the hose. I am returning it today.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Its ok for a while Bought this nozzle so i could pull water hoses out through a wall during winter for day time and pull them back in for the night when it would freeze. It lasted for a couple weeks as it broke in the middle from twisting it on and off everyday. Just decided to leave it twisted so it would stay on and turn water on and off at the faucet after first two broke.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't work first time Product would not twist at all. Had my very strong husband try and it would not twist one way or the other after repeated attempts. Other reviews on the internet for this particular product from this manufacturer continue to mention problems with its design and performance. Steer clear of this one!
