Because manufacturers constantly change specs it’s best to measure your old chain to get a new one that will fit your saw. There are three critical numbers and you may find those on the bar of your chainsaw. 1. Pitch – the length of each link. Measure across three consecutive rivets and divide by two 2. Gauge – the width of the groove in the chain that runs on the chain bar. That should match the width of the outside portion of the chain bar that the chain runs on. 3. Number of links Chains also come in low profile and regular. Most smaller electric saws use a low profile chain and larger gas driven saws use a regular profile.

will this fit a Remington M30016AW

Using your old chain, count the number of links, measure the pitch and measure the width of the chain part that slides in the chain bar of your saw. Then determine low profile or regular. Google to learn what these terms mean. Do all of that and you will get a good matching chain. Unfortunately, you cannot rely on general statements about a fit for a manufacturer and chain saw length because they change their designs over time.

Misleading compatibility with Echo chainsaws. The packaging lists Echo on the front. On the back it lists the Echo CS-352. But if you read the fine print it says, "Only when used with Oregon branded bars". I don't have an Oregon branded bar. I bought the Echo chainsaw at Home Depot. Maybe this will save someone the hassle of a return.

Response from The Oregon TeamApril 1, 2020
Hello,

Thank you for your comment regarding the Oregon S56 you purchased. It is true that some original equipment bars require a different chain length than the Oregon replacement bars. We understand that this can be confusing and frustrating when purchasing a chain, It is always best to read the notes under the saw manufacturer to see if the chain is applicable for what you are running.
It fits my Makita as advertised. Cuts well. Took down a 16" diameter walnut.

I also bought this chain thinking it was going to work on my Echo CS-352, but it was very tight. Then noticed the fine print that it will only work on Echo chainsaws IF you have an Oregon bar. Warning to anyone wanting to use this chain on an Echo. Apparently 16" does not mean 16".

Nice and sharp, this fit my generic 16” saw. Only 4 of 5 stars because the chain is barely 16” and I had to move my tension pin beyond is normal stop because the chain was so tight. They should add an extra segment to make this chain a tiny bit longer so it’s not a struggle to get your bar back into proper tension position. Overall a good chain, cut 4 trees down like butter.
