Hey Caroline, These can be used as supports for a wooden island top, however, i would not recommend for use with a granite countertop. That is too much weight for these corbels.
Hey Cavender, Our Corbels are for decoration. They are not rated for weight.
Hello Crystal, thank you for your question! If using the keyhole brackets only, then no, we do not recommend these corbels to be used to hold up a granite bar. We do not rate these corbels for load bearing capabilities because the method of installation and the substrate the the corbel is mounted to can vary greatly. Hopefully this is helpful!
Hello Patty! Thank you for your question. This corbel is not rated for specific load bearing capabilities.
My husband screwed them on
It has recessed keyhole brackets in the back. You screw two screws into the wall and then it hangs on those.
This corbel has a metal bracket on back with recessed hole in corbel so that the screw head fits inside this bracket. A small screw and wall anchor are included with corbel, but these are not large/strong enough to support a countertop. I purchased heavy duty lag screws and predrilled a hole in back of corbel so I attached the lag screw from the wall stud side. Securing corbel by using screws from the front would also be ok but then you would cover with wood putty for painting or staining.
