Is this product compatible with: moonflowers, morning glories, pepperes, catnip, mint, ginger, basil, arugula, squash, parsley, rosemary, mexican sage

and cat grass? It appears we have ants (LOTS) "farming"aphids. Also have some small, black flying bugs. If this product doesn't work or shouldn't be used on any of these plants, what would work/be recommended? Also, do blossoms of any of these plants need to be avoided with/protected from this product?
Asked by: David

Customer Reviews

Flower, Fruit and Vegetable 1 Gal. Ready-To-Use Insect Killer with Wand is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product, bad pump Bought this product to take care of the Lilies and marigolds I planted. Product works great, but the wand pump is no end of frustration. First, the different "spray" patterns did not work, only got one type of jet spray pattern. The part on the top that the hose attaches to does not lock in place so anytime I move the sprayer around it will all of a sudden stop and I look and the nozzle is pulled down. The pump is battery powered and you can hear it working, but it doesn't seem to be pumping anything out. I've gotten to the point of having to hold the bottle at a tilted angle just above my shoulder with the pump near my waist and I can't even point the nozzle upwards or it stops pumping. I would rather deal with a hand trigger or pressure style pump like what the Round up bottles have. Like I said, great insect killer, horrible design on the automatic pump.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works For Me I use this product on my ornamental shrubs and it keeps insects in check. I use it when insect presence is detected. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best insecticide I spray all my plants with it. Insects don't bother them for upto four weeks. For fruit, begin spray after fruit begins to form. Avoid spraying during blooming stage

Rated 2 out of 5 by from narrow spray patterns three spray deflector settings- but all three are about the same, very narrow streams. So you have to wave the wand around to cover anything, kind of hit and miss. Why bother? It would be nice to have a fan spray pattern of 20 or 30 degrees.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good insect killer before the pump stop working. I don't use it that often and the pump stops working while I still have plenty of chemical in the container. You can hear the motor making noise but nothing comes out of the spray. Changed battery and tested it outside and the pump simply doesn't pump anymore. I had similar experience with Ortho's other spray products and they all go bad fairly quickly. Ortho definitely takes short cut on cheap pumps. Would recommend the chemical but stay away from their pump!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work at all I live in the Boston area. I spay this Ortho Flower, fruit and vegetable insect killer on my egg-plants and string beans and the next day the leaves are eaten. I really sprayed it, totally covered every leaf until they were dripping. The next day the leaves are eaten. Plus the spay Wand stop working with half of the gallon half full. I am going to try Sevin.
