Lucy - This fence kit is made of Southern Yellow Shortleaf Pine.
Christine, you may want to take a look at the Outdoor Essentials 6 ft. x 6 ft. Pressure-Treated Cedar-Tone Moulded Wood Fence Panel Kit (model number 162523) if you are looking for a fence with more privacy.
The pickets are 3-1/2 inches wide
Michelle, unfortunately we do not have a gate for this product.
The distance between the pickets is 4 inches. You can research your local building code to see if the spacing can be smaller than 4"
Unfortunately this kit does not include a gate with it, you can add one or build your own using the panels. You would put a 4 x 4 fence post between each panel to connect them too which you would put into the ground about 3 feet for a 6 foot post. This panel comes unassembled and must be put together by the buyer. You can stain, seal or paint the fence after the wood is dried out.
The actual panel width is 72 inches, each picket should be placed with a 2 to 4 inch gap in between each one, please look at your local building code to see the smallest or largest spacing you can have between the pickets.
Unfortunately there is no matching gate for this kit. There are gates on Home Depots page that you can match with it, or you can make your own by cutting a panel in half.
One kit has one panel, to determine the number of linear feet for the entire job and divide that number by 6 for the number of panels. To determine the number of posts, take the number of panels needed and add 1.
Yes, it can be painted or stained after the wood is dry
