A:  I purchased the 3x3 which roughly used 6 cu. ft of soil. If you purchase the 6x3 - I believe the depth is the same it will take roughly 11 cu. ft. to fill. What I usually do to keep it cost-efficient is I use a combination of soils. Also, keep your eyes open in the garden center sometimes they have bags of garden soil at half price because they have a hole, and they patched them up. A:  I would say yes. I purchased the 3x3 - 1 to plant spinach and lettuce, the other to plant some vining veggies which I made cages and trellises for from feedlot panels. A:  Yes it will work great. I have tomatoes (3) cucumbers (2) two peppers, bell peppers (2) a yellow squash and a zucchini. all fit well and are growing so fast.
