Questions & Answers

Who's going to buy this crap, can make this themselves. $850.00

While this isn't a question, your statement is somewhat valid. Even though it probably isn't worth the price, some of us are not able to 'make it ourselves'. Not everyone is capable of building things like this from scratch, especially older folks, etc. If we were younger and healthier maybe, but at this point, buying/transporting all the wood & supplies and then building it from scratch was not an option.

Raised Garden with trellis
Easy to assemble. Panels are already put together. Holes aren’t pre-drilled, so some building/woodworking experience is an asset.

While this isn't a bad product, after putting it together and seeing the quality, I have a hard time recommending it for the price. I got it on sale for about $800, and feel it was still way overpriced. As constructed, it's very flimsy, especially the 'hinged' top which uses thin pieces of boards attached by 2 screws to prop the top open. Plus the top is large & made of very thin poor quality wood, so it bows in the middle when you lift it. My husband ended up putting a metal brace in the middle to help with that, but I have my doubts that the top itself will last very long. Also, the fasteners to hold the removable panels in place are made of plastic. I'm betting that with wear & tear, most of them will quickly break; time will tell. But for $800, it at least could have come with metal fasteners. On the plus side, it's very easy to assemble and fairly large; plus with the panels installed it can be used as a makeshift greenhouse in the cooler months. So all in all, we expected a little better quality for the price, and feel like we'll be lucky if it lasts 1-2 years; if this doesn't bother you, it may work out well for you. However, if you're handy at all, you could make something similar that would be much more sturdy for way less than half the price.
