Hello Kevin, Foamular does not have any soundproofing properties. Recommended applications for Foamular 250 include: Wall Furring Perimeter/Foundation Wall Cavity Wall Precast Concrete Under Slab Exterior Sheathing We do not have recommendations for placing this product in windows. This product is combustible and requires a protective barrier or thermal barrier as specified by your Local Building Code Thank you for your inquiry.
Hello Denise, While we understand that Foamular is often used for crafts/small projects we do not have any recommendations for this specific use. Thank you for your inquiry.
Owens Corning Foamular NGX is commonly used in applications including perimeter/foundation wall and underslab as well as exterior sheathing. If you have additional questions for your intended application please contact our Insulation Agents at 1800-GETPINK (438-7465) Monday-Friday 8am-6pm EST. Thank you for your inquiry.
Owens Corning Foamular NGX Insulation is combustible and must be covered by a 15 minute thermal barrier in most crawl space applications. There are a few exceptions, please see section 6.5 of the Evaluation Report at the link below to determine if your crawl space qualifies. https://dcpd6wotaa0mb.cloudfront.net/mdms/dms/EIS/10019986/CC_UL_Code_Report.pdf?v=1430799545000. The Foamular is not sized to fit between joist and it is labor intensive and there is typically waste when installed between joist. For this application fiberglass batts are recommended. Thank you for your inquiry!
Hello Kcdewie, Foamular can only be used in an attic space when meeting conditions outlined in the UL ER8811 report. However, Fiberglass insulation with a Kraft-facing and the Foamular insulation board act as vapor retarders. Having two vapor retarders within an assembly can trap moisture. Compressing fiberglass insulation at any time can decrease the R-value. We would not recommend the Foamular insulation board to be installed in an attic and then walked on, while it is a rigid board it may not support the weight and could lead to safety concerns. Thank you for your inquiry.
Hello D2024, Due to the heat generating potential of placing Foamular NGX behind glass, we recommend not placing Foamular NGX in windows. Also, Foamular NGX is a combustible product and needs to be covered by a 15-minute thermal barrier such as 1/2" drywall. Thank you for your inquiry.
Hello toddm, The Foamular cannot be used directly under the hot tub, pressure points that can compress the Foamular. Once compressed it will not fully recover. You will also need to confirm if the 25 psi would be adequate for use under the hot tub. Thank you for your inquiry!
Hello Rick, Please see section 6.5 of the Evaluation Report at the link below. This will provide the criteria for the use of exposed Foamular NGX in a crawlspace. https://database.ul.com/certs/ER8811-01a.pdf Thank you for your inquiry!
