Yes, you can build up the area using dirt/soul or bag base (material that compacts well). Then follow the steps to install the fabric, sand, panels and paving stones. Contact PaverBase customer service (Tim) at 813.431.8259 with questions
The one piece of advice that I give to everyone asking questions regarding any product purchased from Home Depot is: Contact the manufacturer for specific questions regarding application, use, configuration and so on. No one understands the intricacies of a product more than a manufacturer. Brock Pavers website is the place to ask this question. This is right from the website: "WE’RE HERE TO HELP ANSWER QUESTIONS FOR YOUR HOME PROJECT AND OUTDOOR LIVING SPACE" Tim Newton, VP Phone: (813) 431-8259 – Call me anytime, even weekends http://www.brockpaverbase.com/
If you feel movement it can be uneven ground or sand compacting, which should only occur once. Try wetting down the patio. If it is minor, the water may assist in compacting the sand.
The sand can be wet. You can hand tamp the sand and use a straight edge or side of 2 x 4 from high end to low end of slope are to make sure you do not have any low spots. If so add a little sand hand tamp and recheck. Then lay your panels.
Use 1/2 rebar and 2 x 4 to screed 1/2" all purpose sand. If you use pvc piping, as the measurement is inside diameter not outside so you may need more sand
PaverBase panels can be used with most paving stones for all patios and walkways - pavers, patio stones, wet cast, natural flags stone (different thicknesses), outdoor porcelain pavers (min 3/4"). Can also be used under artificial turf, short walls, sitting walls and pillars.
Panels are .68" thick
It depends on the fire pit type. 1) Portable fire pits - yes you can use panels but I would place fire resistant mat under the pit to protect the pavers 2) Fire pit kits: you can build first and then build patio around it (preferred way) or build fire pit kit on top of patio and use sand and lava rock inside the fire pit (at least 50%) to insulate the heat from the pavers. Remember that none of the products (wall units, pavers and panels) are fire resistant. For questions contact PaverBase customer service (Tim) 813.431.8259.
We put ours directly on the sand
yes, absolutely. Lay additional landscape fabric on top of the panels to prevent the rock from clogging the drainage holes.
