PC-7 1/2 lb. Paste Epoxy

$ 14 09

Overview

PC-7 is the tough job epoxy. This paste epoxy was formulated for maximum bonding power. When mixed, components A (grey) and B (black) reacts to form a bond of tremendous strength. PC-7 formulation provides extended working time, for large and critical jobs, which allow the user to reposition work or make changes. High "wet grab" or tack of PC-7 Paste Epoxy makes overhead and sidewall work easy without drip or sag. PC-7 demonstrates excellent chemical resistance to mild acids, caustics, detergents, gasoline, fuel oil, salt, and fresh water. Approximately equal amounts of A and B by volume; variations of either component as high as 20 percent will not affect the bond strength. When desirable, one part of A to two parts B may be used to increase elasticity (expansion joints, etc.). In cold or cool temperatures, place PC-7 container near heat prior to using. PC-7 mixes and spreads easier at 80°F than at 40°F. Any clean smooth flat surface is an excellent surface for mixing and working. A small putty knife or flexible artist spatula are great tools for mixing and applying PC-7. Use with as adhesive: wood, metal (all types), glass, brick, block, rubber, concrete, stone, slate, fiberglass, tile, and more in any and all combinations; as sealant: oil, gas, water tanks, cellar cracks, pressure tanks, and plumbing leaks; as a filler: holes, castings, patterns, molds, voids, welds, steering wheels and much more.

Can I use this product to secure a grab bar on a tile shower stall wall?
Asked by: pete
I wouldn't. Not enough surface contact. Better to trust a masonry bit and wall anchors. You don't want this to fail you, and it most likely would.

will it seal a dripping petrol tank
Asked by: John
Hey John, I do not know your experience level, so excuse me if I talk about something you already know. The size of the hole is very important. Pressure is also very important. The higher the pressure the more difficult the repair. I can offer my experience on small holes (about 4 or 5). I did not use PC-7, I used JB Weld. The preparation is about the same. Empty the container. Clean the exterior very well. Use a solvent that will remove oil and clean the outside. Sand it until you can see clean metal. Use solvent again. Mix epoxy. Apply thin layer. Wait 24 hours. Repeart. However, before doing any of this, test the chemical propeties of PC-7. Mix and make a small batch. Cure for 24 hours. Drop into a container that contains the "petrol" ( I assume we are talking about gasoline) Check the condition of the small batch of PC-7. Make your decision.

PC-7 1/2 lb. Paste Epoxy is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good bulk epoxy product, very thick and difficult to mix... Good bulk epoxy product, very thick and difficult to mix by hand but only takes a couple minutes to mix to even consistency. Does not pour or self level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't Always Believe Your Plumber! I was able to add a shower fixture to the bathtub in my country home because PC7 was strong enough to seal the fittings and hold. My plumber had given up on the installation and said it couldn't be done, but I did it myself or I should say, PC7 did it! That was almost 30 years ago and it's still holding tight!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still one of my favorite repair materials None of the Home Depots in my area carried this product, since I needed it right away, I ended up buying from a small hardware store nearby. I decided to see if Home Depot still even carries the product... And being that they do, I wanted to give the product the review it deserves... There are FEW products I actually TRUST, and this is top among them... I have been using it for more than thirty years and it still seems to have the same quality it did back when I first discovered it. I have used this product on countless repairs and many unusual projects and it always works as expected... One good example is the repair of a rust-through hole in a washing machine tub... So far the repair has lasted twelve years... Considering that the hole was big enough to stick a finger through, that's pretty darn good given the stress, vibration and pressure such a repair goes through. Granted, I did a good job preparing the surface and applying the material. Provided one prepares and cleans the surface to be repaired, properly and mixes the material evenly and thoroughly... With a little common sense and in some cases reinforcement help, using fiberglass mesh, screws or metal rods, there are huge numbers of things one can fix or make with this stuff. I hope they never change the formula and I can always find this somewhere. Use it once, use it properly and you'll add it to you list of "must have" materials and repair items! Too bad NONE of my local Home Depots carry this product in store, and too bad NOBODY who works in any of the local stores in the departments where this should be found EVEN KNOWS about or apparently has ever of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from pc7 shipping time was earlier than expected. I used to fix a handle on a big kukri 15" handle of a knife. I use to trim branch's and cut oak the handle set well so also used on a table and glues bolts in place and that worked really well too. I did try it on a fiberglass bow that did not work but worked well for what I bought it for sanded nicely... and polyurethane and lightly clear coated painted it. so very pleased with the product I allowed the full 72 hr drying time and dried hard. simple use 50 50 I put separate on a paper plate mix slowly with popsicle stick. till got a gray color and applied with a thin knife I made from a fork. and was easy to clean with water and a paper towel and dried real hard .. great product. suggest use 60 deg f or better. I did it at 50 deg f ended up put near heating vent after 12 hrs.but yup love the stuff

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It worked for me I needed it to fix a leaking drain that was in a cramped area I'm thinking that's why the fitting wasn't glued correctly. Going in and replacing the fitting would've taken awhile but it's a low pressure pipe and the reviews were good for the product so I gave it a try. After applying the epoxy and letting it cure per label directions. No more leaks! And if it hasn't leaked by now I don't think it will. If it does..... This review will be updated. It is sticky very very sticky I wore disposable nitrile gloves and was glad I did. I would recommend this product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have been using this for over thirty years. It is my go to product for extremely strong bonding... I have been using this for over thirty years. It is my go to product for extremely strong bonding with large gap filling ability for metals, concrete, fiberglass, and hard glass. Haven't used it for plastics so not sure about that. Of course there are some plastics that are very difficult to bond like Teflon, UHMW, and Delrin. I suspect it would work on Styrene and ABS. One very nice thing about this product is that it is quite viscous so it doesn't run or drip out easily so you can bond pieces in all positions.
Date published: 2016-10-25
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product ! Very strong bond! The paste is a little stiff thereby leaving a bit more of a gap when gluing two pieces of granite together, but it worked well so far, and much stronger bond than I thought possible. I would use this product again, saved me several hundred dollars in repairs, and is holding up a critical corner of my granite counter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent purchase! The product is very strong, but a bit difficult to apply in many applications. I repaired a granite counter top and after sanding, it looks good.
