AnswerHello, This is a great question! As a general rule, the more material we put into a product, the more expensive it will be. The Seashell Adirondack Chair is significantly larger than our other models and is made with a significantly thicker lumber stock. Therefore, this is the primary reason for the difference in price. Moreover, all of our recycled plastic products are made from the same HDPE material and we use Marine Grade Stainless Steel fasteners on all of our items. Save the planet while you sit!
This is it- the very best in comfort (slightly contoured back), style, function and eco! These are very sturdy and reasonably heavy chairs. Mine are the slate gray and blend perfectly into the red exterior of the carriage house. The best feature so far- simply brushing off the rain water and sitting, no more wet wood! I am very excited to leave these out over the winter and not think twice when I brush off the snow on those first sunny days!! The product guarantee makes the extra cost easy to live with. I highly recommend the matching ottomans. Go ahead- save the planet and feel good about it!
