how can I secure the bolts?

I used the to have the bolts with something like a butterfly to secure them and I lost everything. I need the bolts and the other part.
Asked by: yeyes
I used a standard Phillips head screwdriver bit on a cordless drill. They've durable and the heads don't appear vulnerable to stripping.

Wish they were carried directly in the store, in Oregon, as they have more uses than attaching storm protection. In-store pick-up made it easy to order.

I used these sidewalk bolts to replace the bolts I used in the last hurricane that were full of paint causing the heads to strip when I attached a screwdriver. These are a perfect match for the old ones and for the hurricane shutters. They have nice silver appearance which is perfect since I don't intend to paint over them again. I find the overall quality to be excellent and there's nothing I'd want changed. I highly recommend them!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't paint over these As a result of Hurricane Matthew, I had to put up aluminum shutters for protection for the first time. Therefore, this was the first time I had to remove these bolts since installed and painted over twice by the contractor. It was extremely frustrating and in some cases impossible to remove these after they had been painted over. I talked with several people who actually couldn't install their shutters due to this problem. The root cause, as I experienced, is that the metal was too soft to allow a Philips head to be useful and I couldn't locate a flathead screwdriver bit big enough to work. Not the kind of experience you want at a critical time like an hurricane emergency.
