If you are a weekend diyer the Powertecs will do the job. If you have a lot of work to be done with saw horses, then I would go with the metal brackets.
Fairly strong plastic brackets for making your own saw horses. You can make the legs any length according to chart provided. Also you can make the with any length as you wish. They also stack if you have more the one set. Or you can disassemble for long term storage. Once you cut the legs to desired length, and attach your top piece (2x4 or 2x6), I used 2x6 by 36 inch length, they set is fairly strong. Love it.
I really like these brackets. They're easy to assemble with just 2x4 lumber and the included hardware. The great thing is that you can cut the legs to make them any height you want. Also, you can use 2x4's or 2x6's for the top. Nothing fancy, the just get the job done. You can also disassemble them if need be and throw them in the truck or car to use them at another location.
Finally a product with printed instructions. I was happy to see the advice on how to get the correct height by way of the length of the legs information. Seems to be solid and I buy more of these as needed.

I have had 4 sets (4 sawhorses) of these brackets for about 25 years. I have used them and abused them and they have taken a beating. I’ve even used them as temporary scaffolding. I use them mostly for outdoor projects in the summer. In the fall, I break them down and store them. Finally, one of them cracked so I replaced that whole set. I was glad HD still sells them.
