I buy ready-mix in 60-pound bags and it handles one bag (plus the mixing water) with no problem and empties easily once mixed. Probably wouldn't want to put in more, though.

Call Buffalo Tools at 1-888-287-6981 (buffalotools.com) and ask for switch for model CME35 Mixer. Owners Manual was not in my box, only assembly instructions that had the Mfg's contact info above. It also says to have your receipt when calling, probably for warranty issues, should be able to purchase a switch.

Can I use this for my garden soil ? Is the paint free of toxic Ingredients?

Asked by Rob November 23, 2018

Answers

Yes. In fact I bought this mixer 3 years ago specifically to make up my own soil mixture (soil, vermiculite, manure, etc). It works great at making such mixtures, especially when the soil used is wet and heavy. I have had no problem with the paint, etc leaching out of the mixer, but I do not leave wet soil in the mixer. After use, I clean it out and keep it covered with a tarp when not in use.

Throw away
I have found out that replacement parts are not possible to purchase. The main joint holding the drum is plastic! Customer service told me to call back in 4 to 6 weeks to ask if they had parts available. Please consider this a use and throw item. I found this to be expensive for being a one use item.

Would be more stable with a wider front stand, needs a better handle and wider wheels for easier moving. A better set of mixing paddles would be nice as well. But all in all a decent machine for small jobs.

Junk! Arrived with half the parts missing and the other half damaged. Instructions were terrible and parts did not go together, holes were threaded 5/16" but the part that was supposed to bolt on had 1/4" holes so needed to be drilled. The motor drum was bent and tool a lot of straightening to allow assembly, the motor mount was also bent and had to be straightened. The reset button was damaged to the point that it could not be used. I continued to assemble thinking that I would be able to get the parts replaced but this is sold by Home Depot for another vendor and I got the response that had to wait 2 days before the vendor would make a decision. Took it back to local Home Depot for a refund. There were no markings on the motor and I think i actually was provided the motor and mount from the cheaper 1/2 HP mixer. Do not waste your time or money.

Some issues with assembly. I don't want to blame the manual, but there are definitely some items that have changed. But look at the photos and use some common sense to pre fit and you should be fine. I was missing one long bolt to attach the motor mount to the housing. It feels like it should do the jobs that I need. And I bought it at the 'spring black friday' sale, so at $199, it was a bargan.

Assembly was a breeze. I have mixed & poured 84 - 80 pound bags of concrete mix and 22 - 60 pound bags of mortar mix and its been a pleasant experience. The drive shaft has required a few squirts of WD40 to quiet the squeeks. It mixes very thoroughly in a few minutes per bag. I have cleaned the inside well at end of daily use. It still looks new. For a while I was hung up about its shortness being too low for a wheelbarrow to roll underneath. So, set it on a skid, then added a 8" concrete block under wheels and support to raise it high enough to get the wheelbarrow underneath. That worked, but I also discovered the mixer moves around on its wheels fairly easily, so lately I roll it close to point of use and work directly out of it or pour into bucket to distribute.

product arrived damaged in carton, Motor housing had plastic broken pieces falling out of it when removed from box. Home depo accepted the item on return after they sent us another motor but no instruction on wiring hookup, so entire item was returned to home depo. HOME DEPO did manage this situation well and we immediately purchased mixer the same day. NOT this model.

Pictures don't quite do it justice, it is much better quality than it looks. Sturdy, strong, and gets the job done. I am doing a job on my back yard (300+ 90lb bags of quikrete), and I have 2 of these going. It holds two bags no problem, and mixes without breaking a sweat. I would suggest placing the handle latch on the 3rd notch while mixing, because anything higher and the mix gets stuck on the bottom. By putting on the 3rd notch the mix is forced to fall into the center of the mixer and mixes very well. The only complaint that I have, and as you will see from the photo I posted, is that the mixer is a bit lower than your standard wheelbarrow, so you need to tilt your wheelbarrow at an awkward angle to get the mix to fall in properly. For the 2nd pour, we placed the mixer on one of the leftover pallets from all our quikrete, and screwed it down. This created just the right amount of height so that it was still easy enough to load, but would clear the barrow and fill easily.

Great mixer
Great machine, perfect for one man to do small jobs, very well made. Best to make a stand for it to dump into wheel barrow (see pictures) I made the first stand with pilaster block, but needed the blocks, had to make second stand. If you want to dump into wheel barrow one has to have a stand. Will mix two eighty pound bags of quickcrete.
