Incrediball Hydrangea from Proven Winners will make you say WOW - it's an improved version of the garden classic 'Annabelle' hydrangea, but with strong, sturdy stems that don't flop over and extra-large blooms to boot. White flowers begin to appear in mid-summer and open to enormous snowballs, nearly the size of basketballs! These long-lasting blooms then age to a lush jade green, which persists through frost. It's a super easy, super reliable North American native that grows in chilly USDA zone 3 all the way up to USDA zone 8/9. Plant this award-winner in your landscape and find out for yourself just how big, beautiful, and rewarding it can be!

Hi Robin Thanks for asking! Incrediball® Smooth Hydrangea is a deciduous shrub, meaning it will lose its leaves and be dormant over the winter, then regrow new foliage in the spring. Hardy in zones 3-8, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success. Prefers well-drained soil that does not remain soggy for any amount of time and part to full sun. As always, please feel free to reach out to us at any time with any plant questions or concerns. Email us at helpdesk@provenwinnersdirect.com. We are happy to help! Cori at Proven Winners Direct
Hi Rose Thanks for asking! The ASPCA lists hydrangeas as toxic to pets. I am including a link to the ASPCA website of toxic and non-toxic plants. https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/toxic-and-non-toxic-plants As always, please feel free to reach out to us at any time with any plant questions or concerns. Lynn, Thank you for reaching out, I am happy to help! The Incrediball hydrangea is hardy up to planting zone 8, I would not recommend planting this shrub in your location, zone 10, as it would not be able to perform/thrive within your climate. However, you may attempt to do so if you wish, in a location with partial sun (4 hours per day). Just be aware that perennials and shrubs must be planted in the correct hardiness zone for our replacement guarantee to apply. Growing zones are one of the most important factors for sustainability in gardening. The country is broken up into "zones," according to climate and growing conditions, which allow you to know if a plant will survive the winter or summer in your area. Proven Winners® plants are trialed and tested in several climates to see where they grow best and then classified into zones. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Feel free to contact us via email, at helpdesk@provenwinnersdirect.com; chat with us directly on our website or call us at 855-797-5268. Best, Sarah
Hi Sharon - Thanks for asking! Hydrangeas can be planted in early fall or spring. You will want to be sure to allow 6 weeks prior to your predicted first fall frost to allow time for root development. You can also plant in the spring after the danger of frost has passed. To find your predicted frost dates, enter your zip code at the following link: https://www.almanac.com/gardening/frostdates/zipcode As always, please feel free to reach out to us at any time with any questions or concerns. You can email us at helpdesk@provenwinnersdirect.com or chat with us online! We are happy to help! ~ Cori
In bloom it’s probably not a good idea to put in high wind. The flowers are very large. I would put a supportive structure around it if I had to place it in a windy space.
Hydrangeas are very durable. Make sure it’s planted firmly in the ground.

The leaves, flowers and buds are all toxic to animals. I planted mine in my front yard away from my backyard dog.
They bloom mid to late July and the bloom lasts thru fall. Bees love the small florets, and as each flower has hundreds of florets you can imagine how bees love them. This is a great plant, easy to grow. You'd be crazy not planting them in your garden.
The blooms are sterile, there is no pollen. That's good because they don't have fertilized seeds that sprout all over the garden-come up everywhere. They do not provide food for bees since they have no pollen.
Hello, thank you for asking. We are happy to help. Bees do love this plant! The bloom from early summer to later summer, dying off when the cold weather comes in. I hope this helps! If you have any questions, please contact us at (734)654-7485 or helpdesk@provenwinnersdirect.com. Kind Regards, Allie
Hello Jessica7, thank you for asking. We are happy to help. I would recommend planting them 48-60 inches apart from each other. I hope this helps! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at (734)654-7485 or helpdesk@provenwinnersdirect.com. Kind Regards, Allie
Typically 3.5 to 4 feet apart, but you can put it closer for a hedgerow optics if you're willing to do the upkeep/maintenance.
3-5 feet. I think they should be about 3 1/2 feet so they have room to spread and helps them look good while growing
At least 12 inches.
It depends on what you want your end result to be. If you want to create a continuous hedge, you will want to space them 5' apart on center. (Middle of one plant, to the middle of another) if you want them to have space between them, you'll want atleast 6' between the center of one plant to the center of the next. I hope that's helpful! Beautiful plant!
