As you can see, these plants arrived in excellent shape! I am located on the coast in South Texas and they are doing great, I am going to be able to hand out squash to everyone I know very soon. I do water daily, you have to with our high temperatures. Every time I have received plants I have been impressed, they have shown up in excellent condition.

Did you start your garden late this year and want to catch up, get mature plants from Proven Winners Model # VEGSQU1027524 Internet #301577604 Proven Winners 4.25 in. Grande Proven Selections Sundance Crook Neck Squash Live Plant Vegetable (Pack of 4) I started late this year and decided the only way to catch up was to buy mature plants. Proven Winners sounded like a safe bet to be back on track. I planted my plants according to instructions and used chicken droppings and hay as fertilizer. In the photo you will see I had to put a fence around the plants to keep chickens and rabbits away. Though there are sufficient instructions on planting and care I wish they had more. See the photo of the plants 3 days after planting, they have wilted some but according to the tips that is normal and the plant will recover Seller Information: Sundance Crook Neck Squash from Proven Selections has a fresh, buttery taste for weeks and weeks. The Sundance crook neck squash is currently my favorite squash. A reasonably compact plant and extremely productive. Thin-skinned and delicious, with a smooth, almost creamy texture. If this is considered a hybrid yellow crookneck then I agree that it performs well here in Texas. It was a rough start from outside the ground or in a planter into my garden but it recovered ok.

I usually love my Proven Winner plants, and was excited to try the squash out in our garden, but unfortunately, we had a really, really hot and dry summer season, and even my plants that usually do well did not fare as well this season in our desert climate. 3 of the 4 seedlings arrived well packaged and healthy looking, the 4th was not looking so great. I planted them in a shaded raised planter where I planted another variety of squash last year that really did well. These are alive but not thriving and never set fruit. Maybe if I had babied these with more careful attention they would have thrived, but I wasn't able to just stick them in the ground and let the irrigation take care of them this year. Too bad. I think they might do fine in more temperate climates but they didn't work out for me this summer.

Well everything looked good, and the plant seems to be very healthy. After carefully removing it and preparing the soil with some loom and other nutrients to help it grow quickly and produce fruit, I planted it in a semi-shaded area of the garden. It seems to have taken well and the watering has been consistent through-out. I do expect this plant to thrive in its new home.

The squash seem to have the same issue as the beans. The tomatoes I put in at the same time are busting out with fruit all over the place, I bought them in the store. The beans and squash didn't seem to like being shipped. The squash are doing better than the beans however, they at least are setting fruit. I'll know more once I'm able to harvest them.

Well, it's going to be a while before I can write anything definitive about these plants since they need time to develop and produce any squash. I have put them in a raised planting bed with amended soil and an automatic irrigation system, so they'll get every opportunity to do great. The idea of getting plants by mail is new for us, but so far everything's arrived in good shape and ready to go in the ground.

The 4.25 in. Grande Proven Selections Sundance Crook Neck Squash Live Plant Vegetable (Pack of 4) arrived well packaged and secured. The plants were in need of watering and showed some damage to the leaves. After the plants were put into the ground and watered for a few days, they started growing and have also started producing blooms. Proven winner products are the best plants.

I waited to submit my review because I wanted to be sure about these plants. I am not a novice gardener. The plants arrived healthy-looking and packaged well. I unboxed the plants right away and did everything that I normally do for a new plant. I planted according to its stated needs, fertilized and watered and ensured they got the correct amount of sun each day. Each day the plants looked less happy and eventually, they all died. I am very disappointed.

these 4.25 IN. GRANDE PROVEN SELECTIONS SUNDANCE CROOK NECK SQUASH LIVE PLANT VEGETABLE seedlings are vigorous, healthy plants. They were planted, in Maine, in full sun in a raised bed, and once adapted have grown beautifully, and have taken off. Last years selection had beautiful, succulent and tasty squash, in abundance, I planted in roughly two week periods apart and about two foot apart, and had cropping throughout the mid to late summer. Doing it again this year, too.
