Q:Can a person trim blue rose of Sharon so it does't get so tall?

          Answer This Question

A:  Yes, you can trim Rose of Sharon, but it needs to happen in late fall or early spring so you don't trim back any of the blooms.

          by|Feb 4, 2023

A:  I don’t know the answer. I would check with a garden nursery.  But it is a Hibiscus from what I understand so I would check also how to care for other Hibiscus.  I had to return mine because I live in Minnesota and by the time it get big enough to enjoy it would be winter here; and I would not be able to bring inside cause I only have windows on the north.

A:  Hello, thank you for contacting us. We are happy to help! Our Azurri Blue Rose of Sharon can be trimmed to shape, but we do not recommend a heavy trimming/ cutting the height down. I hope this helps! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at (734)654-7485 or helpdesk@provenwinnersdirect.com Kind Regards, Allie

                Not Blue!
Unfortunately mine is a light purple color. Luckily it's still pretty, but not what's pictured. Packaged & shipped well. My friend has the same 1 & hers is blue.

Disappointed. Last year I bought the smaller quart size of this plant, and it grew after I transplanted it into a pot rather than the ground, but it did not survive the winter weather. This year, I bought the larger size, and was dumbfounded when I received essentially the quart size plant in a larger container. I could easily see the soil from a quart container that had recently been put in the gallon container, and there were no extended roots. So basically, I paid twice as much this year for dirt. I’ll not by Proven Winner plants online again.

                    Interesting
Recieved Hibiscus a week ago, was shipped nicely, but had been turned over during shipping. Had a very light soil, maybe extra vermiculite, so spilled half of soil. Maybe my most fun to check on daily, a couple mm growth a day at first. Arrived healthy looking. Pics are 1st day and 7th day early. Fun to watch grow. Couldn’t add 2 pics

Easy to grow and produces lots of flowers especially from early summer to fall. Very attractive flowers and pollinators love them.

The color of this Hibiscus flower is breathtaking!
I bought and planted this Hibiscus 2 1/2 months ago. Today I got my first bloomed flower and it is just as beautiful as the flowers pictured here. I have lots of other bud that have yet to open, but I'm sure within the next week or two this plant will be loaded with flowers. I can't wait!

I am so thrilled with my purchase. I did not know that this color hibiscus existed and couldn't wait to get it home. It arrived safely but was very tiny. I didn't know if I would have much luck growing this beauty but planted it in a pot with good soil and hoped for the best. The leaves stayed a nice, healthy green but no signs of buds. I thought I would probably have to wait several weeks, perhaps months before getting a bloom. To my excitement, I woke up to a beautiful little flower a few days ago. I would not call the color blue though. I would describe it as a light purple/periwinkle. Mine is not as bright and vivid as the advertised photo but I really do love it! I hope it continues to do well. If so, I will be purchasing more for sure! Thank You!

The shrub received was at most 5 to 6 inches in height (rather small), it was however green and healthy looking. I have planted it and it is growing well, it's new branches now reaching towards 12 inches. I am waiting patiently to see the color of the plant when it puts out its first bloom.

Hello , Based on the picture shown, plant had no leaves but had some branches. Plant arrived safely, thank you! I received this 4-5 " stalk with no branches. Plant was ordered 2 months ago, only few leaves have come. I don't even know, after few months what kind of flower will bloom. Feel disappointed.

                          Not what I was expecting
I bought this plant thinking I would get a full plant already in bloom. Nope that was not the case. I got a big bucket with sticks. I don't even think it is alive. I put it in the grown to see if it will grow and nothing. I think I was sent a dead plant. Maybe it will come alive and surprise me, but I really don't think so. This was very expensive plant to buy that was just dead. So very disappointed. I wish I could return it and get a plant that is alive.
