Scentara Double Blue from Proven Winners has cool purple blooms that take on a blue tone in the spring sunshine, each one full of petals for a delicate seashell-like effect. It has excellent disease resistance, resists deer, and has the most incredible fragrance. It requires full sun and well draining soil, if you wish to prune, do so immediately after blooming.

Disappointing
I ordered the 4.5 inch so I would only have to dig a small hole. The lilac was barely 3 inches from root to tip of the dead leaf at the top of it’s single stem. My daughter ordered the gallon pot for $5 more than mine and got a small, full bush. Don’t waste your money on the smaller one.

A local nursery told me that this is the only lilac that will grow well in the panhandle of Flori...
A local nursery told me that this is the only lilac that will grow well in the panhandle of Florida. I ordered six from HD in August that planted well and I purchased 9 more 2 months later and they planted well too. They lost their leaves within a couple days of arriving but recovered well. See photos. We will see how they do next spring and I will update this review.
