I’ve seen them in gardens in Georgia and Florida and they grow for me in Oregon so SoCal should be OK. Beauty berry sprigs make lovely additions to arrangements in the fall. These are not technically the flowers that are the display but the berries when there is very little else of color in the garden.

Hi Berries, Eating beautyberry berries is not recommended. I have read that it tastes "medicinal." I can find no resource that says it is toxic, but that does not mean that it is good for human consumption. To be sure, please contact poison control. Beautyberry berries are best left for birds to eat when they are ripe in September/October. Beautyberry has also been reported to help repel mosquitoes. If you have any further questions, please contact us at 734-654-7485 or helpdesk@provenwinnersdirect.com. Best regards, Fallon
No, this product doesn't have a thorns.
Hi Joe, Pearl Glam Beautyberry requires full sun (about 6-8 hours per day) and has a mature size of 48 - 60 inches tall and 36 - 48 inches wide. If it is in the right environment and receives proper care, then it should do well. If you have any other questions, feel free to call our hotline (734) 654-7485. Best regards, Amanda.
Hi fancyplants, The Pearl Glam Beautyberry is hardy in zones 5-8. It is not considered heat or drought tolerant. It would likely tolerate a few 100 degree days at a time, but might suffer stress from weeks of 100 degree weather with little water, especially as it tries to establish during its first season. For best results, look for plants that are hardy in your zone and labeled heat and drought tolerant, like our Infinitini Crapemyrtle series. If you have any questions, please call our hotline (734) 654- 7485. Best regards, Fallon
Hi Beverly, Berries appear on the Pearl Glam Beautyberry after the plant blooms in summer. If you have any questions, please call our hotline (734) 654- 7485. Best regards, Fallon
Hi DonnaR, The Pearl Glam Beautyberry is an advanced hybrid between Callicarpa dichotoma and C. kwangtungensis. It gets its upright form and purple-tinged foliage from C. kwangtungensis and early, prolific showy fruit from C. dichotoma. In the fall it has glamorous bright violet pearls adorning dark purple foliage. If you have any questions, please call our hotline (734) 654- 7485. Best regards, Fallon
Hi CS, Pearl Glam Callicarpa are deciduous and will lose their leaves in the cooler weather. I hope this helps! If you have any additional questions, feel free to call us at (734) 654-7485. Thanks, Hailee
