Product Overview

Invincibelle Wee White from Proven Winners is the first dwarf Annabelle-type hydrangea in the world. It reaches just 1 ft. - 2.5 ft. tall and naturally grows in a tiny, rounded mound. The blooms are pure white and grow on strong stems from summer through fall. Invincibelles can handle cold down to USDA Hardiness Zone 3. Wee White prefers full sun, but in hot climates afternoon shade is beneficial. Prune in early spring, just as new growth begins to emerge on the stems. This hydrangea is native to North America.
  • 1-2.5 ft. tall and wide at maturity
  • Partial sun (4+ hours) in southern climates and partial to full sun in northern climates
  • Hardy in zones 3-9, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success
  • Quart shrubs are 5-8 in. tall and 6 months to 1-year old at shipment, varies by season and plant
  • Shrubs shipped from November through April will arrive dormant; shrubs shipped April through October will arrive green or in bloom

Can this plant grow in zone 9?

Asked by Laura May 15, 2020

Answers

Yes, I have several of these hydrangeas that I have been growing for the past few years and I live in zone 9. Be mindful of how much direct sunlight they are getting though, after moving mine to a spot with more indirect light they are doing much better.

Can this grow well in a large pot on a porch that gets about 6 hours of sun exposure?

I have two other hydrangeas in large pots on my porch as well. They started doing a lot better once I moved them out of the direct sunlight. To be fair I’m in zone 9 and they were getting all day direct light before I moved them. Hopefully that helps!

Would this be a good plant to plant in front of a Viva Polonia clematis?

Yes. This hydrangea only grows 2'x2' so it would be a nice accent in front of your Clematis.

Very happy with my purchase
Purchased 3 the beginning of May online. They arrived looking a little weak but after a week or so of watering they started looking heathy enough to replant in larger containers. Its been two months now and I am about to plant in the yard. Wish me luck in keeping the deer away!

I would have rated these plants higher but the Fed Ex guy put the box in front of the porch in the sun. (I felt lucky that they were still there when we got home several hours later.) They look like they would have been terrific little plants but now they will be stunted.

Bug eaten leaves
The plant that I received was chewed up by bugs. Have sprayed it and hoping for it to recover. The package came in a good condition and on time but the same can’t be said of the plant.
