Why is this listed if I can't order it?

Why is this listed if I can't order it?
Asked by: Flip
I second this question! Palram Americas May 7, 2018 answer, "You can order this item online at www.homedepot.com. It is sold in packs of 5." Is not correct. The item is shown on Home Depot website, but shows no price & cannot be selected to add to your cart. I have a Pro Account & shop every Home Depot known to mankind. The item is not in stores & employees repeatedly tell me to order online. Website specifically says item is unavailable. Palram sells the Palruf line of roofing panel & shockingly doesn't appear to sell a a ridge cap for this same product line; and of course Depot employees, when asked, told me I could order on the website.... I wanted to obtain these WOOD closure strips (not plastic) to install upside down near roof ridge & provide a flat wood surface to screw my own ridge cap to & apparently I can't even do that. I am a handyman & Palruf has to be one of the most poorly thought out roofing product lines I have ever run across...

Fastening aluminum Corrugated roof panels?

Home depot has self tapping screws that have rubber washers that seal the hole from rainwater. Since there are no support strips that fit the aluminum panels they should be stout enough not to require strips? Do you screw the panels on the hip or in the valley of the corrugation. It seems that you have less chance of leaking on the hip than in the valley except you will have a cavity without since the strips do not fit the con-tore of the aluminum panels?. Also how do you cut the panels to length with a clean straight edge.? Please be specific in your answers not vague. by answering with another question. John.
Asked by: JOHN
Install the screws on the hip not the valley. Do not overtighten as the panels must move as they expand and contract and you do not want to crush the hip.

Customer Reviews

24 in. Horizontal Wood Closure Strips (5-Pack) is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from poorly executed These strips were a pain to install because they didn't line up with the roofing corrugations very well and were very prone to splitting without pilot holes. Also, the short 24" pieces were very inconvenient in some areas. What happened to 8' wiggleboard? Does anybody make that anymore? Installation should have been a snap but instead it was tortuous.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design and conformity This product is only useful as a filled spacer but be careful the lengths do not conform to the waves if put end to end you have to do them one at a time as you install them. They will not accept a screw unless you pre-drill each one because the material is to narrow, all in all a poorly designed product for it's intended use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not so Hot! I used 120 feet and found it to be quite a job to use the wavy closures. They chipped, split and broke on me. They are 3/4" wide, so it is not enough wood to nail or drill into (The old ones were a full 1 1/2" wide). I did not try the plastic wavy closures that Home Depot sells, so I don't know if they would be better. :-(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Palruf- Stupid Product Two foot long sections do not compare in ease of installation to the 6-10 foot long strips of traditional corrugated roofing strips. Palruf strips are ultra narrow- they split easily with the heavy screws needed for corrugated roofing. The strips are not calibrated to fit one after another in perfect order. The corrugated roofing is 26" wide so why use strips 24" wide??

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Delicate Product you must predrill every hole, bought 16 sets=(800 predrilled holes) or it will CRACK in Half and BREAK! If not perfectly flat when tightened will BREAK! Used under white panels could not see holes when predrilled if you miss by just a 1/4 inch will crack in half. Bought due to price but not worth it , Broke 80% first 3 packages, returned for credit( only good thing about this sale) Spend the extra money and buy the plastic insert if you can fine them

It was so poorly packaged that one of the packages of 5 was missing and one was damaged. I called to report this and was told someone would be back in touch with me but that has been a couple weeks and I have not heard from anyone. Overall this was not a good experience for me.
