Whisper Fit EZ Quiet 80 or 110 CFM Ceiling Low Profile Dual Speed Bath Exhaust Fan

Installed in a powder room renovation project. Definitely quieter and less obtrusive-looking than the 1980s model that was there before. It does make some noise, but given what was there before, it's definitely an improvement.

Excellent fan, but installation instructions for replacement of an old fan are poor. Tiny drawings, not clear.

This low profile Panasonic dual fan unit replaced a 20+ year old aging noisy bathroom exhaust fan. The unit was installed in a bathroom with 10-foot ceiling without having to access the attic. The unit required enlarging the ceiling hole and used the existing electrical connections. It was easy it to install using the Flex-A-Fast bracket. We have a larger bathroom so the unit is set at 110 CFM and connected with the adapter to a smaller 3" duct exhaust. The unit is well built, compact and quiet. The quiet switchable dual fan operation is easy to access and switch.

The old builder-grade ventilation fan in my bathroom was so noisy, it sounded like a running jet engine and the whole house shook whenever it’s turned on. Since I had time on hand, decided to replace it with something quieter. Did my research and settled for this Panasonic whisper fan. Installation was not too bad but still took me a couple of afternoons. The hardest parts were taking out the old fan (it was nailed to the stud and had to be taken off in the attic in a very limited space), replacing the existing 3” air duct with 4” duct (Panasonic uses 4”, although it also comes with a 4”-to-3” adapter. So theoretically I could use the existing 3”), and cutting the ceiling drywall to fit the new one. With the old fan, it was so noisy I could not wait to turn it off every time I used it. With the new one, it is so quiet I forget to turn it off all the time as I don’t realize it is still running. I was so impressed with this fan, bought two more to replace the ones in my other bathroom and laundry room. All three fans are set to 80 CFM (default factory setting) which is more than enough for our use. Highly recommend this Panasonic if you ever consider replacing yours.

The instructions were not very user-friendly, but the installer figured it out eventually. The fan is quiet and works great on the default setting for a small 5x8 bathroom.

I’ve installed several of these fans over the years, I recently installed 3 in my house and each is significantly louder than expected. I’m registering 56 decibels at 80 cfm and 59 at 110. I’m very disappointed and these will be the last I purchase.

With proper planning, the installation is straightforward. The difference in performance and noise is incredible.
