Q:is it both for clip head and full head nails
by|Oct 10, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Hello, the Paslode Compact Framing Nailer will accept clipped head and full head nails as long as they are 30 degree nails. For the best performance, we recommend using Paslode RounDrive® nails.

Q:I purchased this nailer and it won?t fully sink toe-nails. Often times it won?t fully sink nails fired at 90 degrees. Im using the correct length Paslode brand nail and have my compressor set at 120 psi. I have tried adjusting the nail depth gauge too.

    Answer This Question

A:  Hi Elijah, the width of the the work contact element (WCE) on the Compact Framer lifts the nose further away from the work surface when toenailing. Adjusting the tool’s depth of drive deeper should allow toenail shots to drive flush. If the depth of drive is already adjusted deep, the air supply might be weak for the application. If you have further questions, please contact our Customer Service Department at 800-747-8020.

Q:Is 1/4" hose big enough @ 90psi for Paslode Compact framing nailer?
      by|Jul 7, 2023
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Hi Loren, the minimum hose size is 3/8 inch and the minimum recommended operating pressure to ensure nails are flush when driven is 90 PSI for the Paslode Compact Framer. Anything less might run the risk of misfiring nails. If you have further questions, please contact our Customer Service Department at 800-747-8020.

Great design but underpowered for a pro
Love my cordless Paslode so I thought I would give this a try. The compact and lightweight deisgn is fantasitic for interior framing. The construction does appear high quality and durable. However, even with 3/8 hoses at 120 psi at the lowest depth setting this gun was unable to sucessfully toenail whitewood studs. I would not recommend for any serious project.

Very Compact Framing Nailer With Outstanding Performance
If you are a contractor that uses framing nailers all day, you know how important it is to have reliable and light weight tools. Paslode has recently introduced the new Compact Framing Nailer, Model F325R. At only 5.9 lbs the Paslode Compact Framing nailer is noticeable lighter than the full size model, which weighs 8.4 lbs. Actually the compact nailer feels similar to working with a drill. Further discussion is provided below. At only 12.9 inches wide, the Paslode Compact Framing Nailer easily fits between stud walls on 16 inch centers. It comes from the factory configured for sequential mode, and the trigger can easily be reconfigured for bump mode if needed. It used 30 degree paper collated nails (2-3 ¼ inches) and has a magazine capacity of 44 nails. The full size model has a capacity of about 84 nails. It also comes with a built-in rafter hook for convenience. The only tradeoff with the Paslode Compact Framing Nailer is the smaller magazine capacity. Other than that, it provides the same performance as the full size model. Highly recommended!!

Great nailer! Durable and dependable. A compact and light-weight metal beast that will withstand years of use and abuse on the job site.
As an avid DIYer, I own an assortment of pneumatic tools and use pneumatic framing nailers all the time. In fact, my “go-to” framing nailer is a Paslode F-350S framing nailer. The biggest difference between this nailer and the F-350S is its size. While both nailers are exceptional performers, the F325R with its shorter magazine is able to get into spaces that larger nailer, including the F0350S, simply cannot. While some may prefer the larger magazine, to reduce the frequency of having to stop and feed nails, my preference is for the smaller nailer. Before you can use the nailer for the first time, you will need to install a 1/2-in bushing adapter and x 1/4 –in (M) NPT air hose coupler plug and load the magazine with nails (from 2-inches to 3-1/4-inches). While the adapter and air plug necessitated a trip to Home Depot, a sampling of Paslode 3-inch 30-degree paper tape nails, which is recommended by the manufacturer for use in this nailer, and a pair of safety glasses, is included with the nailer. I placed a strip of the Paslode nails into the magazine, and I unloaded them into various types and thickness of scrap wood, mostly pine, cedar and maple, left over from earlier DIY projects, without any jams. As with any new tool, I had to fiddle with the toolless depth of drive adjustment to sink the nails to the proper depth. Once adjusted, I was able to continually drive nails without having to go back and finish with a hammer, which saves time. The F-350S holds 2 strips of nails in the magazine, while the F325S holds only 1 (up to 44 nails). The nailer is constructed of durable, lightweight magnesium, except for a few plastic and steel parts, and operates efficiently at 90-120 psi. Since I generally am not hard on my tools, I expect this nailer will provide years of reliable service if I do my part and take care to oil it. At 5.9 lbs., it’s at least 2 lbs. lighter than the F-350S and many other framing nailers, with near perfect balance and low recoil. The 30-degree angle is handy for toe-nailing and driving nails in tight spaces. The nailer features a soft, comfortable, rubber, non-slip grip and a built-in heavy-duty utility hook which could be used to suspend the tool from a belt, but is better suited for hanging on rafters. The aggressive tip allows you to drive nails at any angle without slipping. The tool's trigger comes set up in single operation mode for precision placement driving. To switch the trigger between single operation and optional bounce drive or “bump-fire” mode requires removal of the O-ring and pivot pin from the trigger assembly. One negative is that you can't easily switch the trigger back and forth between drive modes. Another thing to note about Paslode nailers is that they won’t fire without nails in the magazine. Anyone who has ever driven nails and then realized they were shooting blanks as the magazine was empty for the last dozen or so trigger pulls will appreciate this feature. Having been there and done that, I know I do. Overall, this is a great gun; very sturdy and light-weight, and I have absolutely no complaints. Paslode paper collated nails are costly, so make every shot count.

                Truly compact & lightweight
Couldn't wait to use this puppy. Can get a lot more framing done with less fatigue. Box includes 2 strips of 3 1/4 inch nails and a pair of safety glasses but no air fitting. Make sure you pick up a 3/8 NPT fitting before you leave the store. Will easily fit between 16 inch centers at any angle and the air intake angles slightly to the right for good clearance. Still it will not do the impossible and work in every construction situation. A reversible rafter hanger is included that balances just fine on a tool belt also. I did not need hanger for my job so it is missing on photo. Because of it's light weight it has a real nice bounceback which helps to reduce fatigue even more in bump mode. Changing from sequential to bump is easy without tools but be very careful not to loose the really small "O" ring. The trigger easily identifies at a glance if in sequential or bump mode. The grip is very comfortable and with the amount of rubber on it it does not slip. I especially like that it will handle 2" up to 3 1/4" nails and either .113" or .131" diameter shanks. I have a 1/4 inch fitting and found that 95 PSI would not seat 3 1/4" nails flush even with depth setting at max. It needed a minimum of 105PSI. Hex head bolts are inch. WHOHOO. Thank you Paslode

                High Nails
I love the weight of this nailer but not the fact that it leaves 3" and 3 1/2" nails high. Even at 120 psi and the proper adjustment it leaves 50% of the nails 1/4 to 3/4 high on a regular basis. I've tried different brands as well with the same result. It will drive 2" with no problem. I've reached out to Paslode but did not receive a reply. Maybe they know about it already but don't have a fix.

It fits nicely between 16" on center studs, does toe nailing very well and even stops shooting when your out of nails, unlike my finish nailer.

                  Terrible
Even at max psi and shortest tip, this nailer rarely fully seats nails. Not to mention a crazy amount of kick while only driving nails 3/4 of the way. Rust began to form around the nose within a few weeks. Can’t believe this costs nearly $300 after tax. I’ve had $150 nailers that perform better light years better.
