Hi Boston Lisa, thanks for your question. you will need 2 starter kits (50408) and 1 extension strip (50407). you would start each run on either side of your deck and meet in the middle. Start 1 strip with the extension on the 15' side and run around into the 40' side. start another from the 17' side and meet where the first strip ends. i hope this makes sense. you can always call us at 1-877-883-7325 and speak to any of our customer services reps for clarification. Hi RMM, The LED Kit will connect to your Household Plug. You do not need a Wifi Router to use this LED Kit. The Kit will emit its own wifi which you can connect to through your device settings. it will be name PEAK_XXXXX. You will be able to control the lights through the Peak Lighting App once you are connected to the Wifi.
