Product Details

The Pennington Terra Cotta Strawberry Jar has 6 pockets and a 2 Gal. capacity. It is ideal for strawberries, and succulents like hens and chicks. Translating simply to "Baked Earth" in Latin. Please note: This item is handmade and dimensions may vary slightly, but no more than one-half inch from the specifications provided. Terra cotta pots and saucers of the same size will be best paired together. For example, the 6-inch pot should be paired with the 6-inch saucer and the 10-inch pot should be paired with the 10-inch saucer. Pots, saucers, and pot feet are all sold separately.

A:  The holes are about 2 inch x 2.75 inch, not sure if there are small enough pots that would fit in them.

        A:  Not lips per se but the holes are slightly bulged out at the bottom to direct growth upward. Rely mostly on mulch and root mass to hold dirt in.

            I love the terra-cotta material that this was made from and I have always thought to have a planter like this where I can grow ivy on the sides and then have a beautiful centerpiece plant at the top which is exactly what I have done. I just love it.
