Q:I live in the San Joaquin Valley (literally the middle of California). If I plant this in fall, will it be established by summer? Does this grass grow green and full in summer?

A: Hello, Bermuda is a warm-season grass that should be planted in the late spring or early summer, while the temperatures are 75 degrees and rising during the day but below 90 while germinating. Depending on the region, it is possible to plant outside of that time frame – but we would recommend reaching out to your local Extension Agent for their advice in regards to planting Bermuda grass at different times of the year.

A: Hello, Bermuda seed can take two to three weeks to germinate and it can take up to 6 to 8 weeks to mature. However, in order for it to cover an entire area that isn’t seeded, that can take a few seasons. Thank you.

Planted the seed over a month, still no grass

We tilled the front area and raked and planted the Bermudia grass and what was left we done the back area. It's been over a month with watering it and still no grass. What are we to do now, Smart Seed does not work here on the coast of North Carolina where it is hot and dry.
