Beachwood Park Oak is a light natural wood with creamy white coloring and soft grey graining. The wirebrushed accents on a soft matte texture elevate this classic look on the authentic hardwood plank. Pergo Defense+ is a waterproof antimicrobial-protected engineered wood flooring with incredible performance. Planks are protected for life by an antimicrobial technology that inhibits the growth of bacteria that may affect your floor. The properties are built into every plank and will not wash or wear off. The durable surface protection offers strength and stability with superior dent, scratch and stain resistance. Exclusive SpillProtect technology keeps liquids on the surface preventing spills from getting through and underneath. Pergo hardwood floors are guaranteed not to stain or fade and maintenance is easy; just sweep or damp mop. For big messes, Pergo Defense+ can be wet mopped and for the deepest clean without any harsh chemicals, Pergo Defense+ is even approved for steam mopping. For the best performance, install over Pergo FloorMate, the 2 in 1 underlayment with included moisture barrier. This easy to use fan-fold underlayment and the simple and secure Uniclic locking joint make Pergo floors a snap to install. Coordinating moldings are available to finish your installation. The antimicrobial properties do not protect users against bacteria, viruses, germs, or other disease organisms. *See warranty for complete details.

          Scratches Easily
I bought these floors because they were waterproof, when I saw scratch and scuff proof I was sold. I ordered a pallet and used it throughout my whole apartment. Towards the end of the pallet, there were multiple cases that didnt even have the color veneer layer on them. Within a month of installation, the top layer scratched/scuffed in multiple places easily with minimal traffic. Extremely disappointed, and unfortunate that I will have to replace my floors after a few years. Better cheap options

            Natural white oak pergo defense
Pretty floor. Not completely scratch proof but does seem waterproof. As close as I could get to “natural oak”. Not the easiest to install. It really CLICKS together. But with patience it’s possible

Pergo really brings out the grain with a satin finish
It is time to update the flooring in some rooms of our home and we have been searching for just the right product. This Pergo oak hardwood with a satin finish really brings out just the right amount of natural grain in this flooring. Installation doesn't require a hammer to snap the pieces together so it is a lot easier than some floors I have installed. Pergo has engineered an antimicrobial feature built right in to the boards so it will not wear off. When installed with Pergo FloorMate underlayment the subsurface gains a moisture barrier. When the boards are snapped together the fit and finish is uniform and waterproof.

              This is the Good Stuff!
This is the Good Stuff! ... The HandyManiacs have never heard anything from our customers besides praise when we put this flooring down. It looks good, fits together perfectly and lasts and lasts. One pro tip that we have is to use a thing foam underpad to add just the smallest extra cushion. Out here in the desert Southwest where the houses are built on cement slabs, the floors get really hard and that extra little softness makes a big difference.

Hi, TheHandyManiacs. Thank you for your feedback on the Defense+ Hadlock Harbor Antimicrobial Waterproof Engineered Oak hardwood flooring. Underlayment is required with this product. We recommend Pergo FloorMate underlayment as it creates a softer and warmer surface underfoot,
reduces sound transmission and creates a more natural sound in your room. We hope you will continue to come to Pergo for all your flooring needs. - Shanna with Pergo Pergo

This Oak wood flooring is very resistant to dents
This Beachwood Park wood laminate flooring from Pergo has a “Low Gloss Wire Brushed Matte Finish” and filled in missing knot holes. I wish they had used a darker colored filler. Keep this in mind if you are looking for a more refined, perfect finish looking flooring. This flooring is “Waterproof” which makes it more resistant to water than a “Water Resistant” flooring. This flooring can be steam mopped without any damage to the wood surface. The planks do have a small pressed micro bevel on the edges which create a small depression between planks. These depressions can be a place for dirt and water to settle into, and make cleaning and sweeping the flooring a bit more work. Pergo includes an antimicrobial technology that is built into every floor plank, and is designed to prevent the growth of harmful microbes that can cause odor, mold and mildew. This Oak wood flooring is very resistant to dents. It rates 2319 on the Janka wood hardness rating scale. That’s almost double the hardness of White Oak. Installation is easy. The flooring snaps together fairly easily thanks to the Pergo Uniclic locking joint. The flooring is a “floating floor” which means it is not glued or nailed down. Make sure you leave a little room around all the walls for expansion and contraction. If you butt it up tight against the walls it could buckle up if it expands from the heat of sunlight or radiant heating. You will need to install an underlayment (not included), Pergo recommends their Pergo FloorMate, the 2 in 1 underlayment with included moisture barrier. Always order 10% more flooring than your measurements indicate. This will allow for mistakes, waste, damage, and cuts. My flooring came delivered via truck, wrapped in plastic on a wood pallet without any damage (See Photo). There are 10 planks in each case.

              Pergo is great
The brand new Pergo Beachwood Park oak hardwood flooring is fantastic, being engineered is quite good, they’ll be no warping at all because they make it waterproof. It’s a light natural wood that goes lovely with our furniture as you can see in the picture, and it’s very easy to install, with the right professional, and maintenance is easy just wipes for the damp rag. We love this new flooring and even though it’s waterproof the installer put plastic Bisquine and paste everything to the floor.

              5 Plus!
I am so excited to get new flooring in my above garage bonus room! This flooring is so beautiful that I’ve also decided to clear out 24 years worth of the room’s stuff and get new brick wallpaper. This flooring inspired me to get a whole new look and this process is going to take a lot longer than it takes to install this Pergo Defense engineered hardwood flooring. This flooring is a great, light blondish tan color and is similar to the carpet color I removed. I had already been watching a lot of YouTube installation videos so when I received this flooring, I practically knew what to do. I did have to purchase Pergo underlayment and a laminate installation tool kit as well as level my floor in the middle. Since the room originally had carpeting I also had to purchase floor quarter round moulding and thankfully was able to get molding very close to this flooring without having to paint. Poly foam backer rod will go around the perimeter once I’m completely finished. Unless I’m doing it properly, it locks into place quite easily. I also have several different saws at my disposal for cutting and instead of cutting around door jambs, I cut the bottom of the door jams then slide the plank underneath. Only one door, thankfully, in which I used an oscillating tool and blade that I borrowed from a neighbor. I did have two corners in the room I had to work around so that was a great learning process. When you lock the planks together the join lines are practically invisible. The planks are also very lightweight. I especially love this because this is a project I wanted to do alone to help me through my grief after recently losing a parent. The corners are delicate and appear to be made of thin board so do you have to take care when handling. I was initially planning on installing in my upstairs bath, and I know this flooring is waterproof, but after looking at photos online of water damaged laminate flooring, I decided to install in my bonus room. I’m actually glad I made that choice since this is the most used room in my home. Easy to install and super lightweight. Versatile blonde wood color. You can also install this flooring on the wall. Thank you Pergo for superb, easy to install flooring.

beautiful looking floor made with quality material
The floor is a beautiful soft oak color and a lightly wire-brushed surface texture.  When planks are attached they are very tight, which means less chance of dirt and grime building up along the seams.  Unlike other types of popular flooring the backing is solid wood, rather than cork or press-wood. A Janka hardness of 2319 makes it much harder than most types of wood, which means this floor will withstand accidental drops and heavy furniture better than laminate/vinyl flooring.  However, I did a rather extreme scratch test on it and it does scratch, not that easily, but enough that I wouldn't drag or push heavy items over it.  I would recommend pads under heavier items.  This floor would be beautiful in a formal dining room, formal living room or master bedroom.

Significant issues with shading of planks. First batch of 10 boxes I ordered were all the same color / shade, the next batch and subsequent batches have been 70% once shade and 30 % a whole different shade and When i say different shade, I don't mean small differences, those are fine and when spaced randomly look fine, I am talking about when it looks like a entirely different product. I have had to rip up work and having to re-do. Lost hundreds of dollars on re-ordering and re-cutting. Would not recommend.

Very thin wear surface so the verdict is not yet determined. Time will tell the correct rating.
