A: Home Depot provides a selection of quarter round and transition moldings for all Pergo Outlast+ manufactured by Zamma such as Applewood 5/8 in. Thick x 3/4 in. Wide x 94 in. Length Laminate Quarter Round Molding Model# 013141954. I recommend that you ask the question on the quarter round and they should address your issue.

A: I'm not affiliated with this product at all but have enough construction experience to tell you that you will either need to 1) remove your existing base molding, install this flooring, replace base molding; or 2) install this flooring and provide a "shoe" molding of some kind. There will invariably be some gaps and little spaces that even the best professional installer will have against the walls. It is generally advisable to remove the existing base molding because the flooring going under the base molding is a more "natural" look. Even with a shoe molding, your base molding will appear shorter by the thickness of this material if you are installing over an existing floor. If you are removing an existing floor it is possible to leave the base molding in place and slide this new floor under that base molding depending on original construction, but it gets tricky thinking about the heights, doing no damage, etc. Removing your existing base is easy - 1) use a knife to cut any caulk joints on top or bottom, 2) pry off wall with a pry bar. Use a piece of 2x4 placed against the wall behind the pry bar to prevent damaging wall, 3) install floor leaving gaps no thicker than the thickness of the baseboard along perimeter (generally up to 1/2" is acceptable), 4) nail back the baseboard, caulk or putty fill the holes and paint it.

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your interest in Pergo. No. Since the Pergo Outlast+ already has a pre-attached underlayment, the use of an additional underlayment is NOT recommended. It would cause too much flex under the flooring and the warranty would be voided. A 6 mil vapor barrier is required over all concrete subfloors.

Problem 1 (not Pergo's fault) Poor installation by professionals (they hammered the crap out of it to install when they didn't need to) caused edges and depressions at joints and the brand new flooring needed replacement to fit together correctly.
Problem 2 - Scratches SO easily.
I chose this flooring because of the great reviews and beautiful color and I regret it. Lots of money wasted and I'm stuck with it. Our generic HD laminate from years ago held up to scratches like a champ and Outlast scratches with everything. We had felt pads under everything from day one and sweep every day, but if one tiny spec of dirt or sand gets in the house under someone's shoe you're s.o.l.

I purchased a pallet and some extra boxes to cover the living, dining, hallway, master bedroom, and kitchen. So far the bedroom and kitchen are not done. I don’t plan on doing the kitchen now, because of the dishwasher. My son and various people on the internet say that I wouldn’t be able to change out the washer when it fails, because it won’t slide out of its cubby. I am disappointed, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles. I had surgery a few days ago, so I couldn’t get to the bedroom at this time. I am glad I used my Home Depot credit card to make the purchase, because it allows me a year to return items I can’t use.
So far the floor looks and feels great. People who come into our house compliment our choice of wood-look. Installation is not easy when dealing with shuffling furniture around. Ideally, an empty room would be much better. Another difficult area is anywhere there is a doorway that has to be undercut. I started with a special hand saw, but it became too laborious, so I used an electric multi-tool which makes the undercuts simple. So far I have done 8 doorways, and there are still more to do in the bedroom.
Despite the surgery, I am anxious to get back to work and finish things up. I hate having tools lying around taking up space in a couple of rooms. Over time, I will try to write another review as to the durability of the floor. It seems pretty durable to this point.

Easy product to install and looks good. Also a surprise was the look of handscrape finish. It has a matte finish to it which is good for large sunny rooms. We put down over 1000 square foot. The shipping company damaged two of the boxes, but we took them back to the store and were replaced whithin 5 days. The only problem we have had is with scratches and dents. We took some samples of different brands home and did out own scratch tests with keys and childrens toys. After installing someone walked in with a rock in there shoe and left some dents in the floor and my wife dropped a pan and left a rip in the top coating. I will have to see if the repair kit will look good enough. It looks great, but I am also worried about long term and any water leaks by the fridge or dishwasher. I think if I were to do over I would have looked more into luxury vinyl flooring.
