No it wont, think of squrels as the animal kingdoms ninjas, best thing I did was hang a double ended hook wire, a squrel umbrella type plastic cover and the feeder under it, no more trouble with any of my feeders. Also get one at least 18 inches wide.
For a cheap pole mount you can use 1/2" EMT conduit which fits the base perfectly, a 10 foot length can be had for about $3 at Home Depot or any hardware store. Grease it up & the squirrels will never climb it but you will be amused at their futile attempts.
It’s stays the color for a long time
We have hung ours several ways. The feeder comes with a looped wire on top (the end of the wire forms a loop). On a shepherd's hook, we just looped the feeder over the hook---if the pole was small enough in diameter, you could also hang it from a pole. We also have a covered bench that has top wooden slats---we looped the wire over one of the slats, then slid a small diameter rod through the loop. The weight of the feeder pulls the rod up against the slats (the rod is perpendicular to the slats) and the rod holds the feeder in place. The rod we used is plastic, and even empty the feeder weighs more than the rod.
There are no pole attachments. The hang cable is high-quality and used to help open the top to refill the seed.
yes, the openings are perfect for dried mealworms.
Glass. We have two of these and are very satisfied.
we hung it on a pole away from branches and put a dome on top of it.
Birds of a wide variety of sizes may feed from this feeder.
Doubt that it is copper but it is metal.
