Pull the product
I bought this for the look, attempting to avoid the plastic version. It immediately did not seal correctly. Using Teflon tape, and food grade plastic wrap to keep it from leaking. It has accumulated rust, and I have stopped using this all together. The underside of the feeder lacks an O-ring. It was garbage then and now the progression of oxidation really has me questioning the health of the birds drinking from this. I kinda want the humming birds perky, not dead.

Look no further
This design is the easiest to use, easiest to service and most importantly the hummer’s favorite. I have tried and thrown out others because they can’t be completely cleaned, or they are a pain to fill and hang or the birds don’t visit them. This one rates 5 stars in all those areas. I’m about to buy my second one!

Hummingbirds and bonus! Downy Woodpecker!!
Yes! I get hummingbirds and a female Downy Woodpecker! Loooove It! So I actually put out more hummingbird feeders after I saw the Downy Woodpecker so that she (woodpecker) can claim this one, ha ha. I also put out some woodpecker suet. This feeder is hanging under a wood pergola, closer to the wall and I recently (after this picture) , moved it a little more inward and hung two petunia hanging plants near it to protect the woodpecker from view from the hawks.

We've had one of these for several years now and it's as functional and beautiful as the day we bought it. The large mouth opening in the jar makes it super easy to clean as well as the way the whole thing disassembles. We've had several different sizes and shapes of hummingbird feeders over the years but we've found this model to be our absolute favorite. That's why, when I could find them, I bought TWO MORE. The two new ones will be going up soon in our back yard. We have hummers year round here and we need the extra feeders so that the buggers don't have to fight over them.

Great for Hummers and Kids Alike
I love how easy it is to clean; recommended to clean every other day to every couple days to keep the nectar from fermenting or solidifying (depending on your environment). The hummingbirds are really attracted to the red flowers.
The glass is nice and study and easy to clean with a bottle brush or large sponge. It's also easy to see how much nectar remains.
Easy Nectar Recipe from Cornell Ornithology:
1/4 cup sugar to 1/3 cup sugar (less on hot dry days, more on cold/rainy days)
1 cup water
No need to add food coloring
Stir until sugar dissolves, no need to boil.
Hummingbirds are so fun to watch, especially when you can spot the interactions between them. Especially fun for the kids at heart.

Rusts Terribly
Love the look of this hummingbird feeder and the hummingbirds love it. However, it rusts terribly. We bought ours a few years ago and it rusted terribly in just a few months. Since the hummingbirds seem to love this style of feeder we bought a second one and the same thing happened. Because if the rust issue, I would not recommend this feeder.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. One thing that can help to deter rust is to clean your feeder regularly; we recommend at least twice ea week during the warm summer months. This also helps keep the nectar fresh for our hummers.

Nice Looking Feeder
It worked well the first year and attracted lots of hummingbirds. Or maybe just one humming bird many times? But took it out of the shed for this year and its so badly rusted, I'm afraid it will poison the birds.

Don’t buy. Rust horribly in warm Northern California
6 months After buying this it is rusted horribly. The rest infiltrates into the liquid where the birds are feeding. I don’t think this is healthy. I live in northern California work it is very warm in the summer and I bought this in June now it is December and is resting so bad I’m very disappointed. Please see the photos I posted.
