Is the aerator removable for installing a hand shower?

Asked by Gillian January 31, 2019

I know the aerator is removable but I don't know if you can install a hand held shower to it. We love our faucet and would highly recommend it for a bathroom sink. It is beautiful to look at as well as a wonderful water dispenser that would compliment any bathroom.

Is this compatible with a sink wth no overflow?

Pfister model #LF-048-PDKK comes with a Push n' Seal drain assembly that requires a sink with overflow. Pfister does have grid strainer option #T47-7GLC that is used in vessel type sinks, however, this grid strainer assembly does not hold water in the sink bowl. Please contact Pfister support team at 1-800-732-8238 for further details.

how to replace cartridge ?

Asked by pm52370 February 15, 2017

Answer

The cartridge can be removed by turning the handle base counterclockwise and it releases both the base and the knob as one piece. The knob can be lifted up and there will be a screw that must be loosened in order to release the cartridge.

How do I remove the handle to replace the cartridge?

Asked by Carrie March 23, 2016

Answer

Hello Carrie, I’m Chris from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question. You are on the right track. Turning the handle base counterclockwise releases both the base and the knob as one piece. Keep turning that base and eventually it and the knob can be lifted up. At this point you will see a nut that must be loosened in order to release the cartridge. A schematic can be found here: http://s7d1.scene7.com/is/content/Pfister/47356 I hope this helps, Chris. .

the model in the store on display didn't show the drain where it's the push drain. It had the mechanical pull attached.

Is the slate color water spot resistant?

Asked by mommabear October 17, 2015

Answer

Yes, the Slate finish is water spot resistant.

Does this finish come with a tub stopper and drain companion?

I feel your pain! I installed the pasadena faucet in slate and love that finish. However, I want to install the slate finish in the tub/shower but no one is selling the overflow cover or stopper in slate. I wonder if I could scuff the finish on my existing cover and stopper and paint it to look like slate. Speaking of the stopper, I would love to install a push up stopper in the tub like what comes with the faucet in the sink.

Worked fine until it didn’t, noticed water under the sink. Was coming through center hole in the counter, happened running hot or cold. Replaced cartridges, same problem. Something inside it has broken/malfunctioned to cause this leak.

Took it apart to see where it was leaking and notice it was the two pieces and only a rubber seal. rubber seals don't last for ever. So there you go .....

Easy to install. Looks nice. But....Spout underside is a separate piece of metal and slightly protrudes out, not completely flush with rest of faucet. May become a problem. Not happy with that part at all. Plastic pieces not desirable.

We purchased these for our bathrooms back in 2013. I noticed over time the minerals in the water can build up on the faucet, leaving corrosive deposits around the base and will not come off.

This was my first time swapping a sink fixture. The original faucet was 20-years old and began to leak underneath the bathroom sink. The Pasadena fixture is good looking, simple to install and so far seems to be a good buy. However, their were some issues (to no fault of the fixture). The box did not really specify that it used a specialized "pop up" drain, and some sink modifications may be needed for this type of fixture. When I removed the old fixture, I left the drain plunger rod and original brass drain in tact. I felt this would make install even quicker since all I would be doing is installing the new fixture on top of the sink and reattaching the supply lines on the bottom of the sink. As I begin to place the new fixture on the countertop, I relized their was nowhere for the plunger rod to fit into the new fixture. Thats when I relized, "oh man this easy install is about to become difficult". Because I was forced to use the "pop up" drain system of the Pasadena, I needed to disassemble the plunger rod, which of course is also attached to the original brass drain. I hade a choice to make, I could simply rebox the fixture and go back to HD and find one that uses the traditional plunger drain rod, or use new cleaner parts and update. I chose to update parts. In most cases, this probably is a easy task, but I was dealing with a 20 year old sink, so removal of the drain was somewhat difficult (removing the plunger rod took 3 minutes, but removing the brass drain took about 45-minutes). If it wasnt for my saws-all tool, I probably would have given up and took the entire thing back. Once the old drain was removed, install was back on the fast track. I finished the install, and so far so good. I'm sorry for the long winded review, but I think it's important to notify folks that the install DOES REQUIRE you to swap out the drain and not use your old one. In the end, I'm happy that I did it, and will install 2 more of this fixtures through out the house. One thing I did question, although the "pop up" drain system is beautiful, functional and easier to install, once you have a sink full of dirty water, you must submerge your hand into the dirty water to release the drain. Score one for the old plunger style system. However, the pop up style does drain faster than the traditional, so that is a point for this type of drain system.

Pfister Pasadena - Certainly not the best/highest quality but for the small amount of money spent it was a nice improvement!

I purchased the Pfister Pasadena faucet in polished chrome as well as the coordinating Pasadena towel bars, TP holder etc. for my guest bathroom. The collection looks nice together. They are certainly not the best/highest quality but for the small amount of money spent they were a big improvement for my guest bathroom’s “weekend” facelift. For a $140.00 +/- though this collection does the trick! If you want high-end, this is obviously not going to be your first choice. I also purchased a (Progress Lighting Model #P3133-15 Fairfield Collection 3-Light Chrome Bath Light) to go with the new fixtures. It looks awesome with the Pasadena collection and I highly recommend them together if you need bathroom lighting too. This fixture compliments the PFister Pasadena collection to a tee. However, it’s $205.00 and not cheap. Nevertheless, all totaled up, for around $350.00 it still makes for a fairly inexpensive update. Cheers!

Seeds Program Review
(What's this)
The Pasadena is a very good, moderately-priced faucet. A few things concerned me during the installation process, however, that I believe are worth mentioning: (1) The faucet is actually made partly of plastic. If you read the description carefully, it only mentions metal handles. The faucet as a whole blends together fairly well, despite the fact that it's made of two different materials. This product is not being sold at a premium price, so the plastic is fair - just don't expect a high-end feel. The handles are also a bit loose - they shut off firmly, but can be pushed from side to side due to flex in the frame. (2) The faucet uses a pop-up drain. This is not specified in the description, and some people may not like this. On the other hand, it made installation slightly simpler. (3) The drain cover has a Pfister logo on it, which complicates installation. I understand that every plumbing product has a logo prominently displayed, but this was a poor location for it. To install the drain, you must actually hold it firmly while twisting the drain body underneath. Getting the logo to end up in the right orientation while tightening both sides down is needlessly difficult. Just put the logo on the faucet, Pfister.... (4) I was surprised that the instructions do not recommend using silicone or plumber's putty on the drain cover. Without it, you probably will not achieve the seal necessary to keep a basin filled with water. Once installed, the faucet worked quite well. Water pressure and flow is very good, and the on/off action of the handles is solid, other than their aforementioned rocking in the frame. Overall, the Pasadena is a fair product for the price. The same faucet is sold for much less in brushed nickel, and that model's price is probably more indicative of the quality of the product. The slate finish used here adds a little bit of sophistication, but doesn't make it a premium product.

I thought was going to be complicated, due to never changing a faucet or more less anything to do with plumbing. I am female and was able to do this myself, due to husband working long hours and I wanted it done like NOW. The hardest part for me was taking off all the old hardware and loosening nuts to hot and cold (not sure if using the right words, but to take off so could take old faucet off sink). The snap and seal drain is awesome, and really easy to install in a matter of minutes. I would recommend this to anyone who has not done before and wants an upgrade. Now I can fill the sink up with water!
