Are these dimmable?

I see the picture of the box indicates non-dimmable, but there's nothing in the specifications that says one way or the other.

Why would 14.5W energy use = the energy use of a regular 100W incandscent bulb?

A bullet point states "Energy used: 14.5-Watt (equivalent to a 100-Watt standard incandescent light bulb)". In fact, the energy used by the LED is just 14.5% of a 100 Watt incandscent bulb (the whole reason to switch bulbs)? The product statement implies either the LED would also use 100 Watts of energy or that the 100 Watt incandescent uses 14.5 Watts, yes? My point? Converting to LED is expensive, and often times the product offering is narrower than traditional incandescent bulbs. This in turn requires more research when making an LED purchase decision which can be confusing for many (this is where I noticed your confusing comparison. So, is the LED 14.5 Watt bulb equal in terms of lighting when replacing a 100 Watt incandescent? Yes (splitting hairs about lumens aside). Is the energy used equivalent? No. This is where clarification is needed IMHO. If I have made a mistake, please accept my apologies, otherwise please reword the product information. Thank you.

LEDs produce nearly no heat. A normal incandescent bulb expends nearly 80% of its energy consumption as heat with the remainder actually being light

will this bulb work in india with 220 volts
Asked by: viren
No. Philips specifications (their Model 046677455675) indicate 120 volt operation via a Medium Screw base. Source: [Philips Specs](https://www.usa.philips.com/c-p/046677455675/led-bulb/specifications) There is no 220-240V equivalent bulb detailed on Philips site above.

Perfectly uniform illumination from five bulbs side-by-side in fixture above double bathroom sink area. Noted the color rendition is not quite as good as the 100W incandescent lamps replaced so one might consider looking for higher CRI (color rendering index) if the the application was critical (illuminating an art piece or somesuch). The color rendering is certainly good enough for grooming and make-up, much better than any compact fluorescent. Our bathroom is massively more comfortable now that we no long have a 500W heater running when the lights are ON. The amount of illumination is greater than the 130V lamps replaced. Slightest pause is sometimes noticed when switched ON. The distribution of light is different from old incandescent lamps as there is little light emitted toward the base. It does change the appearance of the illuminated fixture so there is less uplight and more downlight from downward facing fixtures in our case.

I personally like these bulbs, but my daughter complained that they were "too yellow" in color. The only issue I've had is that one of the bulbs kept blinking on and off in one of our lamps. I changed out the bulb (with another Philips 100-Watt Equiv. A19 LED Soft White), and it worked fine. Has not blinked since I changed it. Perhaps it was a faulty bulb. Overall, satisfied with the product.
