The more you dim, the warmer the light with the Philips household A21 light bulb with Warm Glow dimmable light effect. This new Philips LED A21 offers a new experience for dimmable LEDs by creating a soft, diffused light and smooth dimming from 2700K to 2200K. As the light is dimmed, the color temperature of the bulb is reduced and creates a warm, relaxing ambience. Until now, this warm, dimming effect was only available in dimmable halogen and incandescent lamps. Now, here's the perfect alternative for these household applications where ambience is as important as lowering energy bills and reducing the hassle of frequently replacing light bulbs. This fully dimmable light bulb is ideal for residential use in kitchens, living rooms and dining rooms, offices, bedrooms, dens and for commercial use in restaurants and hospitality applications. It is perfect for table lamps or anywhere traditional light bulbs are used, providing a soft white light for a pleasing and comfortable ambience.

Yes, the electrical current takes about a second to diminish to the point where the LED can no longer illuminate.

Can this bulb be used in a fixture with a maximum watt usage of 60 watts since it does not actually use 100 watts.

Overall, I think the bulbs are ok but fall short of their claims. When used with a Lutron Toggler CL dimmer switch, the bulbs emit an audible hum at any lighting intensity. While not a show stopper, they do hum, contrary to the claim of "no audbile hum." My second gripe with the bulbs is that they are unstable at low outputs and will flicker. They have a much narrower output range when compared to the Cree TA-19 Soft White bulbs which do not flicker at the lowest power output the Lutron can throw at them. The niche this lightbulb enjoys is that there is a noticeable warming effect at lower outputs. I find this packaging claim true. It is much warmer than the Cree bulb at similar, low outputs. At high outputs, the bulbs are indistinguishable. If you want more range, the Cree TA-19 is a better bulb. If you want warmer light, the Philips is the better bulb. Both emit an audible hum, so neither can claim they don't.

These bulbs work perfect , I have an older ceiling fan with candelabra base connections and it's a dimmer . I bought these bulbs and the candelabra base to regular base adapters and they work great with no flicker . Only reason to buy the bigger bulbs is the fan is mounted on a ten foot ceiling and the 40 to 60 watt equivalent are not enough light for a whole living room . But these two 100 watts work perfect they are actually brighter than I like but I dim them down some and it works perfect

The Philips 100W Soft White "Warm Glow" LED is bright, dimmable, and LARGE! It’s an A21 not an A19. First of all this is a LARGE bulb...which makes sense because it’s an “A21”, not the more common and smaller “A19”. Same shape, same medium base, but about 25% larger. Look at the comparison picture with the ruler - the A21 is over 5” vs. about 4” for the smaller A19. So just make sure your fixture can handle this longer, larger diameter bulb. With that out of the way, the Philips 100W Soft White “Warm Glow” LED (model #479535) is great! It’s hard to find 100W-equivalent LEDs, and this one shines a bright, warm light. It’s “temperature” varies between 2700K and 2200K, getting “warmer” as it dims. It would be great indoors in a larger living room or family room. In the picture with two bulbs in a “Y” adapter, this is the one on the right. The one on the left is a “daylight” version. It’s difficult to photograph light, and the in person the bulbs are much different, with the soft white significantly warmer than the daylight - I’d recommend the latter for a garage or basement, as it might be a bit harsh in a living space. Not as cheap as the ubiquitous 60W-equivalent LEDs, but if you need big, warm light, these are worth it.

This is absurd to ask for a review from buying a lightbulb. People have enough garbage to deal with in their inboxes, media, etc. even once let alone REPEATEDLY. Don't send me another request for a review.

I love the warm color and that the color warms as it dims, like an incandescent bulb. I slightly prefer the fully-on color of the CREE warm bulbs, but don't like the way they dim.
