Hello. Can someone check the dimensions listed in this HD webpage for this product and let me know if they are correct? If so, how can this be a replacement for a typical T3 bulb - which is quite small?
Asked by: Jim
The dimensions shown are the size of the packaging. The diameter of this bulb is the size of the T3.

This bulb shows it is not dimmable but if I installed it in a dimmable circuit, would it at least work?

changing out an incandecent G4 Bulb with an LED equivalent in a Range hood. the 4 bulbs are configured in a dimmable 12volt circuit.
Asked by: Robb
Hello, yes, these bulbs would still work in a dimmable circuit although they are not dimmable. They will only turn on and off.

re: Philips Accent Led light with prongs

husband bought a philips accent LED 20w T3 to use for a night light and we have never seen a night light like this and not sure how to set it up
Asked by: barber
Hi Barber, Philips offers a LED traditional night light. This accent LED light with prongs must be used in 12-volt fixtures. These are ideal for cabinets and desks. Please let the Philips Lighting team know if we can be of further help.

20W Equivalent Soft White (2700K) T3 Desk and Cabinet G4 Base 12-Volt LED Light Bulb is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from These Work Great I used these to replace the 20w halogens in the low voltage puck lights I bought 8 years ago. The halogen lights came with a 12V AC transformer and it works perfectly with these LEDs. The LEDs are indeed just as bright as the 20w halogens and match the color (2700K) as well. In order to make these fit the puck fixtures I had to 1) remove the metal reflector from the fixture (3 screws), 2) glue the socket into the fixture (was held in by the reflector) and 3) remove the glass from the bezel (for better cooling – longer life). I have installed 3 so far and will buy more when the price comes down a bit more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THESE LIGHTS I run a fine jewelry store and these lights are amazing in our showcases. Now they need to come up with a "whiter" version of it too : )

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good concept. Disappointing in performance We have several under cabinet task lights that use this style bulb in our kitchen. The halogen bulbs are expensive ($4) and tend to burn out quickly. I thought I'd try this more expensive LED lights to cut energy costs and last a lot longer. These lights fit into the fixture and give off enough light, but have an annoying flicker or strobe effect for several minutes before warming up. Since we turn these lights on and off several times each day, the combined flicker was almost headache inducing. Reverting to finding a less expensive supply of the traditional halogen bulbs until the LED variety resolves the flicker issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from not as bright bulbs are larger than standard g4. I had to remove reflector to get the bulb to fit. Lumen output is less than halogen 20w but adequate. A 4w bulb would have been better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! Ingenuity at it's best I replaced 1 20 watt halogen puck type undercounter light with this product to observe how it compared to the remaining 5 lights. I did have to remove the reflector and leave off the glass lens as these bulbs are larger than a 20w halogen bulb. That being said 1 week later I replaced the remaining 5 halo's with the Philips LED's. I then replaced a desklamp 50 watt halogen bulb with one of the AccentLED bulbs. No obtrusive heat as with any halogen bulb and the electrical consumption is ridiculously low (6X20 watts vs 6X3 watts) At last, thanks Philips for a nice product! Can you do more?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful light output I used these to replace 10w halogen bulbs in under-cabinet lighting. The amount of light put out is equivalent to the 20w bulbs (which I knew by the packaging). These do not produce much heat when they run - which is one thing I noticed immediately. When used in a kitchen, 20w halo bulbs produce a significant amount of heat under a cabinet (which is enough to melt chocolate). There is no problem with these. The shape of the bulb could be a problem with your under cabinet lights, but they fit easily (glass, reflector and all) into the cheap set I bought from the "german store that sells cheap furniture and household goods in a large chain store" a few years back (I'll give you a hint, it rhymes with "I be uh").

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality light for low cost and low heat output I have installed three of these in the Tizio Italian light fixtures, two in the 50W and one in the 35W size of those. One has to do a little bending of the pins.... out and then straighten them to be parallel. The ceramic base for the pins allow this, and the metal pins are strong but will accept bending. You end up with a fantastic bulb in a great fixture. The 2700K light is excelleent, and the brightness actually seems to be about a 35W halogen equivalent without all the heat. The Tizio fixture has a "flat" orientation of the pin sockets to the lit surface below, which is what you need for these bulbs, and these fit perfectly behind the thin glass shield. I finally felt safe having a Tizio in our son's bedroom. My advice to Philips is to make these with thicker wider spaced pins, but what I have done is working perfectly, for months now. Hi/low switch: not hardly any difference. Really cheap for the quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well in off the grid system. Tried a couple of these in a solar-charged 12 volt system at a camp with no A/C power. Beam angle is wide, making them useful in small bedrooms, over tables, etc. and the color is pleasant - comes across as a bit on the yellow side but very acceptable and much nicer than older more bluish LEDs. They are a very nice alternative to propane lighting in the summer, and have very little heat output which is a huge plus on hot nights. My brother retrofitted an older pedestal style 12 volt LED lamp - this product has a much higher output and a more pleasant color. I realize this is an atypical use, but they are working so well I have purchased several more to add to the system. It would be nice to see more products aimed at 12 volt off the grid lighting needs.
