The correct replacement would be the 40w T12 bright white lamps which can be found at https://www.homedepot.com/p/Philips-40-Watt-4-ft-Linear-T12-Type-A-ALTO-Fluorescent-Tube-Light-Bulb-Bright-White-3000K-2-Pack-543439/308442095
High humidity by itself is generally not a problem for a conventional F40T12 fluorescent lamp. These lamps have been used for decades in garages, workshops, and basements where humidity is often high. The glass tube is sealed, so moisture doesn't affect the lamp itself.
The 34w 4ft T12 tube is meant to be an energy saver or eco version of the traditional 40w T12 4ft fluorescent tube. You can use the 40w T12 as a replacement for the 34w T12. Just note that the 40w tube will likely be a bit brighter.
I'd recommend either a bright white or a cool white color temperature for a nice white light. You can read up on the difference between color temperatures at https://www.homedepot.com/c/ab/types-of-light-bulbs/9ba683603be9fa5395fab90e1115f39
If the old Philips Worklite is 48 in in length then yes this is the appropriate replacement
This is a 40w four foot T12 fluorescent tube at 5000K or Daylight color temperature. This would fit into the same fixture as your reference bulb, but note that there is a color temperature difference. The reference bulb is 3000K or bright white.
Yes! This is the correct replacement
MOST Fluorescent fixtures are NOT dim-able, especially ones with an older mercury ballast. Dimming a Fluorescent tube doesn't allow it to light up properly, so it wouldn't give off decent lighting anyway. You could just switch to dimmer/lower temp tubes.
This would be dimmable but you would need to ensure the ballast in the fixture is rated for dimming and that the fixture is controlled by a compatible dimmer switch.
