NO! I called the toll free number shown on the back of the package and the rep said NO, it's not rated for totally enclosed fixtures. She said it could get too hot, which could make the bulb fail and possibly be a fire hazard. She said this warning is printed on the base of each bulb. She gave these 3 model numbers that were approved for enclosed fixtures: 461228 and 455816 and 455840.
