Very Nice, but ... Not Quite Perfect. ...
Very Nice, but ... Not Quite Perfect. I was recently shopping for light bulbs to replace the 40W bent-tip candle incandescents that started to fail in our upstairs hallway fixtures. We also needed more light because the 40W were leaving the hallway rather dim. Of all the bulbs I found, I liked these Philips LED 60W equivalents the best. They are all clear (no plastic base), and provide that nice soft-glow that we always liked with the old bulbs. Also, the shape is that nice bent-tip candle shape that we've taken for granted with incandescents over the years. Bought the first set, screwed them into the hallway fixtures, and bam ... perfect replacement! And, contrary to what another review stated, I can attest that the light was at least 50% brighter that the 40Ws we had before. Our hallway is nice and bright at this point. So I got ambitious and decided to try to replace these same bulbs in our simulated candle, 2-story foyer light (10 bulbs there). To test this out before climbing, I screwed one into a similar candle-based fixture we had in the dining room. Fit fine. So I proceeded to attack the foyer light with the new bulbs. Unfortunately ... as another reviewer pointed out ... the foyer light had these brass covers on the top of the candle sleeves, and the opening of the sleeve was too small to accommodate the wider metal base on these bulbs. Couldn't screw them all the way in. But then I noticed that, inside the brass cover, the simulated candle sleeves were sticking up between 1/8" to 1/4" above the edge of the inner socket. So ... because I REALLY wanted to use these bulbs ... I decided to remove all 10 plastic candle sleeves and use a miter saw to slowly/carefully clip off just a bit of the end. Once I did this, put the sleeves back on, put on the brass covers, and screwed in the bulbs ... it was enough to allow them to make contact in the socket. This was a lot more work than I expected (or should have had to do). I'm sure the bases are wider due to some design consideration/trade-off by Philips, but they really need to be at least 1/8" narrower in diameter or tapered if possible. Then, I think these bulbs would be perfect. Unfortunately, I can't attest to the dimmability of these yet. Since they are much brighter than the previous bulbs, I am likely to try one out. Hoping there are no issues.

I am amazed at how pure white the light is. Even though it is only 25 W it really lights the area nicely. The light is comfortable on the eyes but it makes it look like it's daylight in the room. If you are looking for a light to read by these lights are perfect. They brightened the page of the book nicely. These lights are dimmable which makes it really nice when wanting to bring the light down some. They are designed to go in fixtures that have a small base. The way the LED filament is designed is very classy. These are beautiful classic looking lights. The candle tip really sets them off.

These are beautiful classic looking lights. The candle tip really sets them off. These lights are not designed to make an area bright, hence 25w. If you are looking for a warm glow but enough light to read by these lights are perfect. They give a special effect to the area. The elimination is a very soft white, pleasing and comfortable to the eyes. These lights are dimmable which makes it really nice when wanting to bring the light down even further. They are designed to go in fixtures that have a small base. The way the LED filament is designed is very classy.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this product because, in my opinion, the bluish light emitted from the bulb gives an unpleasant appearance (see photo). For the same reason, I gave the product only three stars. The quality of the product appears to be very high, with a refined design and finish. For those who are not opposed to bluish light in their home applications, these bulbs may be a good option.

Smooth dimming and really nice, warm-looking bulbs! These candelabra base (E12) bent tip candle shaped light bulbs from Philips are very well made (5 year warranty and wet-location rated!), the dimming is ultra smooth, and they dim way, way, way down. They are 2700K bulbs, but when they dim down they are 2200K color, so really warm and the light they produce is lovely. At full brightness, they are not blinding but they provide a ton of usable light, and when dimmed down they provide terrific ambiance. This is a 3-pack of bulbs, but only one is visible in the packaging. Note that Philips advertises them for ceiling fan use as well as traditional fixtures, another indicator of how well made they are; any bulb that can withstand the vibrations of a ceiling fan are sturdy. Glass bulbs with brand new Diamond Spark technology LEDs, these produce a very viewable light, as opposed to some of the harsher LED bulbs on the market, these bulbs will not hurt your eyes if/when you look at them, even at full brightness.

These are the bright white lights that I tend to prefer over the yellow ones. They are bright and dimmable but my chandelier is not dimmable so not really useful for me. The three pack is perfect since I have nine bulbs so replacing them is easy. LEDs are the best light bulbs you can buy. They last long, produce little to no heat and saves electricity.

I replaced three 60 watt incandescent bent tip candle bulbs in our post light with these LED bulbs. During daylight they look much the same. At night they are surprisingly more bright than I expected given that these are a 25 watt replacement. The amount of light is fully adequate and the color is just right. See the attached photo which shows the illumination. In real life the bulbs are individually visible but the camera just sees lots of light in the dark. The real difference will be in electric consumption – just over 8 watts vs 180 watts. That’s a power cost of $1.53 per year for 3 hours per night versus $35.48 for the old bulbs.

25-Watt Dimmable Bent Tip Candle Light Soft White Bulbs are perfect for a chandelier, or anywhere you need a dimmable bulb. Will also work in non-dimmable light fixtures. We used these bulbs in our dinning room hanging light fixture and they perform flawlessly. They have a 5 year warranty and do not flicker or hum. Can be used indoors or out. They feature a Candelabra base. Estimated energy cost is a mere .33 cents a year, based on three hours of daily use. See pics and video below.

The LED always fascinated me about its efficiency in producing light. I wanted to replace the stairway light with three lamps to LED and I preferred the bend tip look in clear glass. Finally, the price dropped on this style and obtain a package of three in "soft white" . The soft white color is nearly identical to the incandescent filament lamps. Other than the orange color of the LED filament type lamp when it is powered off, you'll never know the difference when they are on except on your electric bill. See the photos before and after. Three lamps went from 180 watts to 16.5 watts for the same brightness of 500 lumens and much lower heat. This chandelier is not on a dimmer switch but using Philips LED filament lamps on other fixtures they do dim very well. Mine you that LED lamps when dimmed will not turn to the warm orange glow of incandescents but dim as if they are a smaller wattage lamp.
