This item can be used outdoors provided it is in a fixture that will prevent water from coming into contact with the bulb. We appreciate your feedback and ill correct the specs for this item.
Would've been nice to get an answer from the manufacturer regarding heat conduction, but I'd 'guess' that the extra heat is concentrated in the halogen capsule and largely radiated from there, with total heat output being lower than a 60W bulb. Halogens are sold as a somewhat more efficient option for various fixtures, and although I've seen one caution about radiant heat and nearby flammables, i haven't seen warnings about more heat conducted into the socket. So I'm going to give them a try as a slightly "whiter" compromise between incandescent and soft white LED.

Hello, The bulb shown is a Halogen B10.5 bulb with a candelabra base. As long as the B10 bulb has the same 'bulb base' - candelabra, it should fit into the corresponding lighting fixture.
