Wish it came with a sliding window
Wish it came with a sliding window to adjust active detection zone; I have to put on some tapes to block areas. Overall it’s a solid sensor of good sensitivity and fast response.

    Hue Outdoor sensor
Very easy to mount and configure! I did have to find YouTube to figure out if battery change was difficult, that was easy to find. Very useful device.

Great way to update an old electrical lighting sys
We bought this older (1917) home earlier in the year. It took me awhile to figure out what was going on with our lighting system while looking to install dimmers. I found only thin gauge wires in each switch box, and I finally figured out that we had an old system where low voltage momentary switches turn the lights ON or OFF via a relay at each fixture. That system is still being manufactured! I realize that dimmers were not possible without rewiring the house, until I discovered Hue. I’ll admit that it was a bit of a hurtle to figure out what Hue is, but once I did I ordered five lights (with bridge) for our dining room to see if we liked them. Next came a porch light, side floodlights, two bedrooms, bathroom, and back floodlights. Everywhere we needed ease of use and quality of light. I did get smart buttons or dimmers for each room, and that works fine. My wife has warned me that she will worry if I’m not available to trouble shoot the system someday, but she does use it now easily. I’m not worried. :) We will eventually rewire the house, but the Hue system will remain. The Hue system has allowed us to put the rewiring down a few rungs on the very long to-do ladder.

Works very awesome with Hubitat Elevation hub, on zigbee. This is supported by Hubitat, and with the current driver reads motion, light level, temperature, and battery level. Currently this is my only zigbee device, and is about 15' away from the hub, through a couple interior walls, and a brick exterior wall, and is communicating perfectly. I have mine set up to operate the porch lights below a certain light level, when it detects motion. I also have a battery level notification set up. No telling how long it will be before I'll need that though. Some people in the hubitat group on fb have said theirs show 99% after a year. Mine is still 100% of course. It's powered by 2 included, changeable AA batteries. Which instructions say to NOT replace with rechargeable batteries. I also have integrated it with Alexa to tell me when somebody is at the door, and give me the porch temperature when I ask for it. It has no problems detecting motion, as I had to set the sensitivity to the lowest, to avoid false triggering, because it is mounted up high, and has a large range where it is. Everything is working just perfectly.

    Mostly satisfied
First, documentation is surprisingly lacking. Nothing about how to change batteries. Nothing about the various colors the detector sensor produces. After I set it up I had it in the house for a bit and would see it glow red and green. Second, not sure why the wall mount does not result in a flush mount against the wall (see picture)? I know sometimes things are done for a reason but I can't think of why someone would intentionally design it this way. Lastly, if you live in a typical town setting (i.e. not rural) with a sidewalk not far from your front door, you will have to rig this somehow if you don't want it going off when someone walks by your house. Although this is a cool technological product, it is not as advanced of a sensor as some of the old school garage spot light sensors (like RAB) which give you blinders and a swivel type mount to control the range. I am going to try to angle it down but afraid it will look silly so might try electrical tape at the top of the sensor. Lastly, the set screw was hard for me to tighten given there was molding about 1-2" below the sensor. I didn't look at the wall mount closely and didn't want to take it back off once I got the set screw tightened but it seems to me that the set screw is not hitting on a flat surface because as I tightened it the sensor would start to twist. From the picture on their site it appears to have a slight curve and I think that is the problem. I was using a level on top as I was tightening the set screw and it was a bugger to get it tight and still level.

issue by configuring Day and Night behaviour
I bought it since one week and I have a issue by configuring Day and Night Beahviour on the Philips HUE App (Android version but also test from iphone, same issue) In the section of the sensor configuration, you have the choice to add day and night behaviour and configuring the time beetween. For me the time is never saved or at least it is not shown properly, so you don't know if it was really applied or not ? Sometimes it is blank and sometime you can see only a "-" instead. So I have no idea if I have configured a range or not... Is it a know issue ? Otherwise the product seems very good !

Nice device, but like all Hue a little over priced.
The main reason I didn't do 5 stars is the cost seems high for this. Works great though. I've got it setup to put my floods to high when triggered then return to low after 5 minutes.

Constantly gets triggered at the lowest setting
I like Hue products but I think my outdoor sensor is defective. My outdoor sensor is mounted under a stoop but still constantly gets triggered by traffic over 30 ft away and the sensitivity settings down to the lowest setting. I'm ready to throw this thing away and it's only a few months old.
