These are 1/2-thread FRAMING screws. Use to build the deck frame. Deck screws have 3/4 of the screw with thread or a 1/4 upper reversed thread to lock down a deck board. These WILL squeak if used on deck boards! Ceramic coating lasts years.
Are these screws Harden?
The screws and bit are made of extremely soft material. Good luck if you're using them on hardwood. They shred.
Yes, these screws are hardened. You are more apt to break the enclosed driver bit than the screw. In fact, I don't recall ever breaking one of these screws.
