There is a flat area on the back rim where you can install either a freestanding faucet or a faucet that has pipes that come up through the back rim. We took a freestanding faucet and took the base off and ran the pipes up through the rim for support. You have to drill holes in the rim yourself in order to have the holes for the pipes to run through. I did not have any trouble doing that since the acrylic drills very nicely.
It's possible to reposition the drain to a center drain. Redoing the feet is not officially supported and may be a DIY project.
No, this product does not come in a smaller length.
You will want to consider where you are placing the tub. The overflow is exposed (as is the water piping). If you will be able to see the piping then you'll want something that has a final finish that will look nice. When I installed this tub it was close to a wall so the piping was not visible. I picked up the tub before I was ready to install it so I had time to check out the drain and overflow openings to make sure I had the correct size. If I recall correctly the standard 1 1/2" drain and overflow were a little small and I had to purchase something larger (1 3/4" or 2", I think it was). I modified the overflow opening so the screws for the overflow fit better. I purchased the freestanding AKDY floor mount faucet with sprayer that I got at HD as well. Here's the link: ( https://www.homedepot.com/p/AKDY-3-Handle-Freestanding-Floor-Mount-Claw-Foot-Tub-Faucet-Bathtub-Filler-with-Telephone-Hand-Shower-in-Chrome-TF0023/300943842) and drilled holes for the piping to come up through the flat faucet mounting area on the tub. I removed the base and mounted the supply piping directly through the floor because the base required the tub to be farther away from the wall. Attached is a picture of the finished install.
