Does this stove have a ash pan that can be removed externally?

Asked by: Shannon
Hello Shannon, this stove does not have a removable ash pan. It does have a burn pot that can be removed but the front of the stove that collects ash is best cleaned with a vacuum. -GHP Group Customer Support

What do I need for piping to vent outside? Is this an extra cost and charge for the pipes or is it included?

Asked by: Charles
Handyman Hudson Here: you will need Hallowed vent pipe , which has stainless steel interior and galvanied exterior, essentially a tube within a tube, along with wall thimbles to protect the heat of the exhaust pipe from your combustible wall. Fireproof insulation, for the wall thimble, and heat resistant silicone to adjoin all exhaust tube joints.

Recommend the dura vent package, has everything you need. Upon startup it was a little noisy but quited down after running awhile. It recovers the heat in the house very quickly had no problems by following the directions.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor buy Bought this a few years ago. Worked great the first season then , look out. Exhaust gas temperature sensor went then blower grommet went. They are not hard to fix, but you have to order the parts from factory. Which is easy but if you are depending on the stove to heat your home 5-7 days shipping is no good. Stores should have to stock basic parts. If you go to any place local it's like your a leper when you ask for parts for it. Buy local so you can get parts quick!!! Over all not pleased.

It has made a huge difference in the comfort of our home. We replaced a wood stove with this, and it provides much more consistent heat to an otherwise cold space. The only issue is that the spring handle for the door does not fit the shaft of the door handle. I have contacted the company for a replacement.

While the hopper size is nice, holding 3 bags of pellets, and the stove burns well, I really can't rate this product greater than a single star. Our stove arrived damaged, shipped from the factory that way as the shrink wrap and box was in perfect condition. The panel below control was scratched and the control knob was broken, spun freely in either direction with no positive stop. Consequently the stove didn't work properly with the broken knob and while the manufacturer quickly replaced the knob and sent a can of paint to touch up the scratch (they offered a new panel, but that seemed wasteful to me) I was really disappointed. The other big issue I have with the stove is the single LED used to share information/status of the stove function with the user flashes constantly while off. Yes, the LED flashes 24/7 when the stove is off -- who's idea was that? At night while off, the LED casts a flashing green light on the ceiling, walls, and floor constantly. I don't get it. The manual describes this as "Off and ready", but I find it more annoying than ready. I'd love it if they removed this feature and would send me a replacement control without the constant flashing! The LED, which offers itself on display as either green, amber, or red also informs you of the status of the stove if you refer to several places in the manual which decipher the number of blinks and pauses in the various colors so you can guess what may be wrong or how it's working (e.g. burn rate). What it doesn't tell you is the rate of your circulation fan, which you have no control of. While the design was intended to be simple, I feel they went a bit far. The two previous pellet stoves I've owned offered more ability for the user to control circulation air, pellet rate, and provided more details to user so I'm a bit biased with having that better experience. I still like the overall stove design with the exception of the controls, and otherwise for the money the quality is nice (assuming it doesn't ship damaged to you) and it burns warm and is efficient with the pellets. My recommendation would be for the control to turn off the LED and stove when stove is off and not in use, allow user more control over circulation fan, and leave the "auto" feature off allowing user to install a remote thermostat instead.

I repaired and repainted the stove because i could not afford to stay home again for three days because of the misleading shipping information. And i was displeased when is asked for a deduction on the price they said they could me a $150.00 credit. Oh by the way I NEVER GOT. So on that matter i will never order anything online through homedepot again. sincerely unhappy. Dan Lewis.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Happy with this for first few weeks Bought this stove beginning of September 2017. With the fluctuation temp in Ohio we have run less than 15 bags of pellets through it from time we got it to today 10/25/2017. Coldest night of the season and it decided to go to cool down mood in the middle of the night and would not start up again we cleaned it out and everything. Call the company next morning we think it's the control board and have to wait 3 to 7 days for it to get here and we don't even know it that is for sure the problem.

I waited a few weeks before writing this review, only because, upon the first few uses, I wasn't too sure I liked the stove. The design and finish are great, and the controls are super easy to use, however, my biggest disappointment with the stove was the fan noise. The first couple of uses, were not quiet AT ALL. The fan sounded like I was hanging off the wing of a 747. We have the stove in our living room and if we were watching TV, 10-15 feet away, the fan noise drowns out the tv volume and made it very frustrating to enjoy our time in the living room. HOWEVER.... I called customer service for the fan noise issue and was told the fan would get quieter after some "break in", at first I thought I was just being pacified, but within the following 10-12 uses the fan did in fact go from turbo jet engine, to the point now where it's barely noticeable. With all the nice attributes of this stoves design and function, I am now extremely happy with our stove. We live in a 2,400 square foot 2 story home and this stove easily heats the entire house. I would highly recommend this stove to anyone that is looking for a well built American Made Pellet stove, that both performs and looks great...and at the price, it truly can not be beat. Trust me, I did the research and this stove far exceeds anything else I found, and does it for a fraction of the price. *On a side note, use the included fresh air kit...it definitely adds to the heat performance of the stove
