How does this system work specifically? What process does it use to remove iron (oxidation, softe...

The process for sulfur removal is aeration , oxidation and filtration. The aeration is for the sulfur and the mineral for oxidizing the iron and filtration. The softener can play a roll in some applications where some iron bleed through occurs and it also removes the hardness from the water. HOW IT WORKS Step 1: Water enters the compressed aeration chamber. As the water passes through the chamber, the water becomes highly oxygenated. As the water continues to flow through the tank, the oxygenated water converts the iron and manganese from dissolved minerals and gasses to physical particles. Step 2: The highly oxygenated water then flows through the multimedia filter bed where iron and manganese are trapped in the multimedia bed. Step 3: Water then enters the Water Softener and flows down through the conditioning resin where calcium, magnesium, and other positively charged ions are removed. (Hardness) Step 4: At pre-determined intervals the system will backwash and reduce all contaminants from the filter bed.

does this system get rid of ( Iron Bacteria )

Asked by mike April 21, 2017

Answer

Sorry for the delay in answering this question technically issues. , Iron bacteria is a tricky question. While the system will work with light amounts of Iron bacteria 2-3 PPM there will be more maintenance required for cleaning out the valves each year. Iron bacteria when present with High iron such as 5 or more PPM may have difficulty performing properly. Other factors such as water temperature and pH levels are also a factor .

When considering this system, I discounted the 1 Star rating as there was only 1 review. I did proceed to read all of the questions and to my surprise, I found a glowing review of the system in an answer to the following question: “Before I’m getting the water softener should I make the water test first, and this test can be done on the home depot” Please check it out. My water is very similar to that review and I have to agree, after installing the system by myself (I’ll get into that in a minute) my water is cleaner, does not have an odor and I can drink from any faucet in the house. This is the first time since moving into the house 5 years ago that I can do that. The system was delivered fast via UPS and I installed it that weekend. I’m no plumber, but can do some basics. The instructions were clear and following them step by step, I got it in. I’m sure a plumber would have been quicker, but I enjoyed doing it myself. Overall, great experience and I would highly recommend anyone on a well water system purchase this unit.

System worked well for about a month, now the sulfer smell is back and water is hard again. Inspected system and brine tank is full of water but neither head has any error codes. I tried to contact plumbers direct to trouble shoot the issue and have yet to receive a response after 4 days.
