Product Overview

Plushtex 5 Gal. 900-14 Texturized Asphalt Emulsion Resurfacer is an asbestos free asphalt based emulsion fortified with select aggregate fillers to give the strongest and most flexible underlayment for the Plush Recreational Color System. It is cold applied, dries black and designed specifically for resurfacing new and existing hot mix asphalt tennis and recreational courts. If not diluted, it is superb for patching, leveling depressions, check marks and medium sized cracks and ruts. (Note: If product is not available to order in your area that is due to nighttime temperatures. Product may not cure and/or track in late Fall and early Spring applications).
  • Application results in a smooth, fine- textured base layer well suited for application of all acrylic color systems on new or poor condition asphalt based recreational courts (tennis/basketball)
  • Answer to filling minor depression, bird-baths on a tennis or basketball court
  • When diluting for full court application do not exceed 3 Gal. of water per 5 Gal. pail of Plushtex
  • Use as a base/filler coating over new hot-mix asphalt tennis courts or other recreational surfaces

Asphalt based.

Can I use this to fill in cracks and chips in existing concrete basketball court?

Asked by Justin April 8, 2020

Answer

No, i would not recommend this for a concrete court...this product is designed for asphalt courts.

what is the coverage?

Asked by Ron September 23, 2019

It can cover 56-80 square feet per gallon.

how much area will 5 gal cover on good surface

Can this be used on Old asphalt to fill in 1/4-2 inch gouges and cracks and have a smooth finish that can be painted?

Asked by Mark September 22, 2017

Answers

No, can only act as a filler for 1/4 in depressions, otherwise it will not dry well and will crack. Use a blacktop patch first, then the overlay.

What is the coverage per 5 Gal. pail?

Asked by Jayne June 12, 2017

Answers

Depends on your surface. If you can spread it at a 1/8-1/4 with a squeegy on a smooth surface, I would say you could cover 100-150 sq. ft. with one bucket. Our surface was very rough with patches so we didn't get that kind of coverage but the product sticks well and serves the purpose of protecting the driveway from the weather.

Does this product have to be mixed with water or can it just be applied straight out of the 5 gallon?

Asked by Ab May 31, 2017

Answers

The label does say you can add water to adjust the consistency and we found it much easier to work with in all regards when we did that. Once we dispatched the first bucket, we then used it to add about 20% water and it was really easy at that point.

I have a gravel drive will it keep the gravel from washing away

Don't think it's the right product for that application. Seems like it would stick to the gravel and you couldn't spread it, you'd just have a big mess when you're done. Now if your surface was vibraplated base rock, maybe?

Can this product be used to fill small to large cracks in a asphalt surface.

Asked by Dick July 22, 2016

Answers

Yes. Larger cracks may need multiple applications as the product will shrink as it dries.

How many square feet does 1 gallon cover?

Asked by Martian423 June 7, 2016

Answer

I don't know but a 5 gallon pail can cover a couple car parking spots easily. I use it to cover the cracks, so my 15 car parking driveway, 1 5 gallon pail is all I need.

Wasn't as easy to spread as I expected but got so much easier when we added some water for a better consistency. Coverage is good, dries quickly and sticks well. Does dry more brown than black however. Think I'll do a liquid slurry coat on top in a month.
